The idea of seeking therapy can be a scary process. That’s why as a therapist I always meet my clients where they are in their therapeutic process. I take on a team approach to let my client know that they aren’t alone. Together we can accomplish many obstacles.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Mississippi and the state of Michigan.
I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi (Hotty Toddy!) and my Master of Arts in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary. Before moving to Jackson, Miss. for graduate school, I worked with Cru (a campus ministry) for three years on the Ole Miss campus.
While living in Oxford, I also worked as the Administrative Assistant at Grace Bible Church of Oxford for two years.
Through receiving counseling in my own life, my desire grew to sit with and serve those experiencing darkness, hardship, or hurt in their own life. I want to utilize my life experience and education to walk alongside my clients as they uncover and develop their own internal resources.
Some of my background...
After raising a blended family, I decided to go back to school and change careers. Therapy lets me combine two of my lifelong passions: helping others succeed and horses. I now divide my time fairly evenly between working with horses and providing therapy.
I graduated from Oakland University in 2021 with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I worked with a non-profit group for a year before starting my practice in 2022.
My journey stems from my own story of resilience in the face of hardships. I became a therapist because I have always wanted to help people through some of their darkest hours. Being exposed to some dark hours myself, I know that it is difficult to do it alone. When you have someone to confide in, assist you through the hard times, and just let you know that you are not alone, makes a difference.
My therapeutic approach includes CBT, Person-Centered Therapy, Relational Therapy, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, SFT, EFT, IFS, and just speaking like a human being. I offer a compassionate, trauma-informed space where you can feel safe, seen, and supported. My approach is relational and personalized—we'll explore your story together, build coping tools, and move toward healing with curiosity, courage, and care.
Therapy with me is real, down-to-earth, and never boring. I mix honesty, humor, and heart to make the process comfortable. I help adults manage emotions, build confidence, and tackle life's challenges with tools that work. Think of it as a safe space to be yourself, grow, and maybe laugh along the way. I specialize in helping with all types of relationships, anxiety, stress, sex and intimacy. I also offer Christian counseling and have a heart for those who have experienced hurt or rejection from faith communities.
I’m a therapist with 8 years of experience working with children, families, and adults navigating a wide range of mental health challenges. My background also includes working in substance use treatment. I believe therapy should feel like a collaborative and respectful space. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, strengthen your resilience, and move toward the life you want.
My specialty is walking with people grappling with traumatic life experiences. I am professionally trained, experienced and accredited in a variety of evidenced based therapy treatment models including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral (TF-CBT) and Christian Counseling.
Over years, I have had the opportunity to work in several settings, including juvenile justice, family reunification, community case management, adult inpatient mental health, & transitional care. Because of this I come with different insight into the issues that may be affecting you. Therapeutic support can improve your mental health for the better. I am letting you know you are not alone in the need for support. Let me help you identify, clarify & meet your goals for better quality of life
