You’re the one who usually has everything under control, but lately, the "strong" version of you feels like a mask that’s getting too heavy to wear. Whether you’re a mother wondering why you feel detached from the life you worked so hard to build, or a parent exhausted by the cycle of ADHD-related challenges—you don’t have to carry this alone.
I provide a warm, judgment-free space where you can stop surviving and start thriving. My approach is patient-centered, trauma-informed, and evidence-based, tailored to move you toward a life where you feel present, connected, and capable.
I specialize in:
- Perinatal & Maternal Mental Health: Navigating the "new reality" of motherhood.
- High-Achieving Professionals: Managing burnout, perfectionism, and "mental load."
- Neurodiversity-Affirming Care: Supporting parents and children navigating ADHD and behavioral hurdles.
Why Work With Me?
I offer a "cozy" office experience in Houston, TX, and convenient virtual care across 7 states ( DE, FL, GA, IA, KS, MT, and TX). My goal is to make mental health easy, accessible and relatable.
My name is Marcelo Benalcazar. I am a father of four and a first generation son of two immigrants. I grew up in Topeka as a biracial/bicultural child and know all too well the feelings that come from being "different" than everyone else. In my free time I play video games (I have multiple systems and enjoy multiple genres), watch movies, read graphic novels, and LOVE all forms of music. Educationally I received my Associates Degree in Addictions Counseling from Kansas City Kansas Community College and my Bachelors and Masters from the University of Kansas where I graduated Cum Laude as an Integrated Behavioral Health Scholar. I am currently a dual licensed therapist with an LSCSW and an LMAC.
I have been working as a therapist for the past four years and have prior experience working in the child welfare system, as well as working as a school social worker. I enjoy working with pre-teens, teens, and adults.
I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist who specializes in working with individual adults. I support clients navigating ADHD, neurodivergence, emotional regulation, relationship patterns, identity, and life transitions. My work is trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming, and grounded in the belief that therapy can help you better understand yourself, strengthen self-trust, and the clinical belief that any person can change course in life at any time.
I draw from approaches such as EFT, IFS, ACT, and integrative experiential techniques, tailoring our work to your unique needs and goals. Together, we’ll explore emotions, patterns, and strategies that help you feel more grounded, resilient, and connected to yourself and the relationships that matter most.
Taryn Hodison's treatment approach is eclectic in nature but she mainly uses psychodynamic therapy in her practice. Clients benefit from her services if they are ready to examine and develop insight into how past experiences impact their present lives. Clients will be validated and gently challenged in therapy to get through the mental blocks that keep them stuck.

With over seven years of experience in the field of social work, she brings a wide-ranging background that includes working with the Children’s Division, in hospital settings, with geriatrics, and school-based social work. This diverse experience has given her a deep understanding of individuals across the lifespan and the unique challenges they face. Helping others through therapy is more than just a career, it’s a calling. Brittany believes deeply in the power of trauma-informed care and support, and the healing that comes from having a safe, judgment-free space to process and grow.
