Hi there! My name is Alessandra. I obtained a master of arts in art therapy and counseling in CT in 2021. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel safe, understood, and accepted just as you are. My approach is client-centered, meaning I tailor each session to your unique needs and goals. As a nontraditional art therapist, I incorporate creative interventions when they feel helpful, while also using talk therapy—there's no expectation that you have to make art to benefit from our work together.

I specialize in working with children and individuals who have experienced trauma, but I welcome clients of all ages and backgrounds. I believe healing doesn't always have to be serious; therapy can include laughter, creativity, and moments of joy alongside processing life's challenges. Sometimes, what we need most is simply a safe space to share our inner world.

You'll also meet my two therapy dogs, who typically spend sessions napping nearby. Their calm presence has brought comfort to many clients and helps create a welcoming, relaxed environment.

I've spent 30 years working across hospice, psychiatric crisis screening, in patient and out patient programs, medical settings and private practice. I am also EMDR certified, which means I'm trained in a research-backed approach specifically designed to help people heal from trauma, grief and PTSD.
