Are you feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you? Maybe anxiety or OCD is keeping you from living your life in the way that you would most enjoy. Or perhaps you are challenged by losses or life transitions which are difficult to face alone. Having a safe place to express your thoughts and feelings can make a difference.
I became a therapist after seeing the benefits of counseling and art therapy on both personal and professional levels. I’m a licensed professional counselor since 2011 and a board certified art therapist since 2022. I hold a Master’s degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Art Therapy. In addition to my degree, also have significant training in a variety of evidence based treatments, including ERP, CPT, Motivational Interviewing, CAMS and ACT.
My experiences with hospice patients and caregivers, seniors, people in addiction recovery, people in crisis, people struggling with anxiety, trauma, life transitions, cultural and social justice concerns, have inspired me to offer therapy in private practice. In my spare time, I love to cook, sing, hike, and make art.

I'm Nicole Shelton, a double board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner (APRN, PMHNP, FNP). My experience in ICU and the ER informs my holistic approach to care. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, substance use, and trauma across the lifespan. As a military wife and mother, I emphasize lifestyle balance, encouraging patients to integrate nutrition and exercise. I am excited to work with folks 12+ who don't want therapy to feel like a doctor's office. I have experience working with anxiety, low self-esteem, disconnection, and trauma, as well as folks navigating difficult diagnoses and changing life circumstances that leave them feeling stuck, afraid, or alone.
Welcome! I know reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, and my hope is that from our first session you'll feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are. I'm warm, down-to-earth, and bring a sense of curiosity, humor, and authenticity into my work. I believe therapy doesn't have to feel overly clinical, it's a collaborative space where we can talk honestly about what's going on, celebrate your strengths, and work through the messy parts of being human together. I have experience supporting adults, couples, and teens through anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, and substance use concerns, and I tailor our work to what feels most helpful and meaningful to you. Whether you're looking for practical tools, deeper self-understanding, or simply a place to exhale and be heard, I'd be honored to be part of your journey.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of CO. I have spent 16 years in the mental health field working with diverse populations.
Welcome! I'm Austin and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado. I am fully licensed as of July 2026 but prior to this, I have worked in both outpatient and correctional settings as a provisionally licensed counselor and intern. I work with clients 18+ with presenting issues including depression, anxiety, grief, and more to improve areas such as emotion regulation and distress tolerance. I also enjoy working with those in the LGBTQIA+ community and am a member of the community myself!
Feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or seeking clarity? You're not alone—and you don’t have to navigate it alone. I work with individuals from all walks of life who are facing anxiety, trauma, identity exploration, or relationship challenges. My clients are often seeking a supportive and nonjudgmental space where they can process their experiences, build resilience, and find practical tools for change.
With over 16 years of experience, I take a warm, collaborative, and affirming approach to therapy. I use evidence-based methods like CBT, EMDR, and solution-focused strategies, tailoring each session to your needs and goals. My style is grounded, compassionate, and direct—focused on helping you feel more empowered, emotionally regulated, and connected to yourself and others.
Starting therapy is a brave and meaningful step — especially when you come from a background where mental health wasn’t openly acknowledged or discussed. I understand the courage it can take to reach out for support, and I’m here to create a space where you feel seen, heard, safe, and respected. A space that honors your story, culture, identity, values, and all the experiences that have shaped who you are.
I work with children age 10 and up, adolescents, and adults, supporting clients through a wide range of challenges and life experiences. This may include anxiety, stress, emotional challenges, life transitions, trauma, relationship difficulties, parenting and family concerns, or simply feeling overwhelmed by the demands of everyday life. For children and teens, therapy can provide a safe place to express emotions, build confidence, develop healthy coping skills, navigate relationships, and better understand themselves. For adults, therapy can offer an opportunity to slow down, process what you’ve been carrying, break unhelpful patterns, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change.
I am grounded in honesty, advocacy, and deep respect for their autonomy. I show up guided by my values, including a strong commitment to social justice and empowerment. I believe everything is connected, and I bring that belief into the room with intention and care. I am someone who will help you understand your choices, your responsibility, and your own agency. I’m especially drawn to working with adolescents and young adults as they explore who they are and navigate the overwhelming stress and pressure that can come with growing up. My clinical interests include anxiety, depression, eating disorders, body image, and ADHD.
