I've been practicing 25+ years assisting adults (of all ages) and teens (15+) with major life changes, mild/moderate depression, anxiety, relationship/attachment issues, sobriety and its relation to mental health. I also work with high functioning career/work choices - helping students/adult-professionals find Purpose-Vision, and Ambition in their career (Life/Career-Coaching). I employ talk therapy to alleviate symptoms, elevate mood, increase self-awareness and existing strengths. I also help people in recovery to alleviate 'Character Defects' that continue on in sobriety.

I see therapy as a collaborative journey, where I walk alongside you rather than ahead of you. For nearly a decade, I’ve had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, and adults facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, autism, substance use, chronic pain, and life transitions. My background in clinical psychology, along with board certification in biofeedback and neurofeedback, allows me to integrate both psychological and physiological approaches to healing. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a background in fine art and over 20 years of experience working closely with creatives. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in helping individuals navigate trauma, anxiety, life transitions, and personal growth. Richard Perez is a Board Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. For over 15 years, he has dedicated his career to serving the healthcare needs of Long Beach and Los Angeles County. Richard wants to continue improving the lives of each patient by providing professional, compassionate, and person-centered care.

Richard has spent the last two years providing mental health care to underserved populations. This experience has significantly sharpened his clinical skills, which he now aims to bring to the general patient population.

I work mostly with men: fathers adjusting to a new chapter, young adults sorting through identity and anxiety, and couples trying to reconnect. After two years in practice, I keep seeing the same thing: admitting something is wrong is rarely the hard part, figuring out what to do about it is. That is where I come in, helping you build a clearer, steadier way forward.

I help individuals identify their goals and make the changes necessary to help them lead more productive and fulfilling lives.
