I began my career at Western New England University conducting research. Upon finishing undergraduate studies, I moved to southern California focusing my work on providing therapy to individuals with schizophrenia spectrum illness, depression, bipolar and substance abuse. Jamal’s work has led him to take on advocacy roles related to assisting families with academic and legal concerns. Jamal’s passions have led him to trauma and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy.

I have 15+ years of experience working with individuals and couples who have experienced trauma, both directly and indirectly. My specialty is those going through a loss, suffered emotional trauma, or are victims of violence. Unaddressed individual trauma can often lead to anxiety, depression and difficulties in developing / maintaining loving relationships. Couples can struggle with unhealthy patterns of communication and need alternative tools to better understand each other. With a warm, collaborative, and evidence-based approach I support clients facing issues such as anxiety, grief, life changes and relationship challenges.

With over 15 years of experience, I have helped countless individuals navigate the challenges they face and find peace within themselves. Together, we can work towards culminating a healthier and more fulfilling future.

When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my dogs, hiking with friends, cooking, and making flower arrangements. I also enjoy spending time doing artsy activities or attending local events.

Since 2011, I have worked in social services, and I became a licensed clinician in 2017. My background includes working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and human trafficking, as well as providing care in ADHD clinics, group homes, and addiction treatment facilities. I have experience with both children and adults, and my recent work has focused on adults in substance use disorder treatment and providing telehealth therapy for a diverse range of mental health needs.
