I'm Mike Godby, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 34 years of experience helping people build healthier, more authentic relationships, with themselves and with others. My work is rooted in the belief that self-understanding is the foundation of real, lasting change. Many of my clients come in navigating challenges with family, friends, partners, or work, and I bring a warm, curious, and non-judgmental presence to every session. My approach has also been shaped by more than 50 years of personal meditation practice, which infuses the way I listen and the gentle, spacious environment I create in our work together.

I am dedicated to helping teens struggling with trauma and self-harm behavior. My experience working with Orange Unified School District, running groups from grade 6-12 for students struggling with emotional and behavioral problems has given me unique insight into not only helping teens, but also working with the families, schools, and community to provide more effective treatment. I have partnered with Western Youth Services in helping at risk teens and low income families in helping adolescents to overcome academic barriers and families cope with serious defiance and drug use.

I have found my own personal healing to be intimately connected to nature, and it is here that I believe that we can all begin to rediscover our intrinsic humanity and let go of those things that distract us from our higher selves. In my spare time, I work as an outdoor educator and manage my own private practice and guide Outdoor Retreats
