Hello!
I'm a United States Army Veteran. I have my Bachelor's and Master's degree in social work. I did an internship in Victim Services at the DA's office, and also an internship at the Department of Veterans Affairs. I have now been working in addiction therapy, specifically substance use, for over five years. This includes working through issues such as anxiety, depression, severe trauma, and lack of resources and support. I am trained in and utilize EMDR therapy, and also have experience with DBT, ACT, CBT, and mindfulness practices. I provide Telehealth services for the state of Utah and reside in Salt Lake City.
I'm a marriage and family therapist who loves to work with couples and families. I also do a lot of individual work with folks navigating grief and loss. I am trained in ART and use this tool to help clients work through trauma.
Many people struggle with feeling different, strange, or like others do not relate to them well. Many people feel like they have to hide who they are and have no place to be themselves. This goes for the person with depression who needs to reshape their relationships; the person with PTSD facing their painful past; and the gay person grappling with the consequences of coming out or not.
I have been described as a “down to earth” and “real” therapist. I like to believe these are accurate descriptors. I bring a plethora of experience to my therapy room; however, I recognize, acknowledge, and celebrate the client being the expert on their life. I provide a safe environment which allows my clients to be transparent without judgment. It takes a lot of courage to reach out for help and it is definitely a risk. We need to remember there is no growth without risk!
I have over 25 years experience working with young men and their families. I love digging in and helping clients find joy in life and increase their resilience.

Factors to Consider When Choosing a Therapist in Draper
Searching for therapists in Draper starts with finding someone whose experience matches what you want support with. Therapists may focus on concerns like anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, stress, trauma, or life transitions. As you compare options, look for specialties and approaches that fit your needs, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, trauma-informed care, or couples counseling. A therapist’s profile can also show how they structure sessions and what you can expect from their style of care.
Draper is a smaller market than nearby Salt Lake City, so local in-person options may be more limited depending on your schedule, location, and preferences. Virtual therapy can expand your choices while still connecting you with a therapist licensed in Utah. As you narrow your search, consider appointment availability, whether the therapist is accepting new patients, session format, and whether a free phone consultation is offered. Reading bios before booking can help you compare communication style, areas of focus, and practical fit.
Therapy in Draper can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before care begins. Headway helps you search for therapists who accept a wide range of insurance plans, verify your benefits, see estimated out-of-pocket costs upfront, and book directly when you’re ready.
If you're experiencing or worried about violence, threats, or coercion in your relationship, couples therapy isn't usually the right starting point — individual support is safer. The National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788\) can help you think through next steps.
