Now, as a wife and mother, as well as working professional, I can relate to the joys, challenges, and everything in between which life brings. These experiences have not only helped make me who I am today, but assist in my ability to provide an empathic approach and understanding in my clinical practice.

I have worked in diverse settings with adults, children and adolescents, individually, with families, and in groups, both inpatient and outpatient. Hi! My name is Dawn Gutierrez. I am a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience in healthcare.

My clinical experience spans across Family Health, Women's Health, Behavioral Health, Emergency and Trauma comprehensive care at the Military Hospital for over 15 years. I then specialized in gender-affirming services such as hormone therapy and ongoing care for transgender and gender-diverse individuals. While providing care for the LGBQTIA community, I was drawn to continuing my education in Mental Health Care to provide Psychiatric services to this community as well.

I approach each patient with respect for their lived experience, identity, and goals, emphasizing collaborative decision-making and individualized treatment plans. My work is grounded in trauma-informed care, clinical excellence, and a strong belief that affirming, accessible healthcare is essential to both mental and physical well-being.

I have extensive experience delivering care through both telehealth and in-clinic settings, allowing me to meet patients where they are and reduce barriers to access. I am deeply committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based, and patient-centered care in a safe, respectful, and affirming environment.

Outside of work I enjoy spending quality time with my family, which brings balance to the work I love. Caring for others—both at home and in my practice—is at the heart of who I am.
