Hi I'm Paola. I'm an English and Spanish speaking Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist from Dallas, TX. I currently reside in Austin, TX. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology/Behavioral Neuroscience from St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas and a Master of Science in Psychology with a certification in Psychological services for Spanish Speaking Populations at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas.
I'm Carol Hernandez, a bilingual therapist, mother, and proud Latina woman deeply connected to my culture and community. I grew up between Southern California and the Rio Grande Valley, went to college at UTRGV in South Texas and did my graduate studies at Baylor University. Over the past five years, I've gotten to work in all kinds of settings such as hospitals, inpatient and outpatient programs, and alongside medical teams, which has given me a pretty wide view of how mental health shows up in people's lives. I love working with BIPOC, LGBTQ+, immigrant, and neurodivergent communities. I specialize in issues of anxiety, depression, chronic stress, trauma, big life changes, grief, post partum depression, or just feeling overwhelmed and not feeling like yourself.
My practice is trauma-informed, attachment-informed and focused on you as a whole person—the culmination of your strengths, experiences, relationships, aspirations, and struggles. My specialty is treating trauma, anxiety, depression, complex grief, and prolonged stress.
I work with children, adolescents and adults in private practice. I specialize in helping people with anxiety, grief, life transitions, school issues and relationships. I am a parent and an educator, pursuing my own growth and learning. I seek to understand where you are personally and what you value. My goal is to provide a space that feels safe and where you feel seen, known and heard.
I work well with children, adolescents and adults, parents, couples and families. I work with helping people improve their self concept, eliminating negative thoughts that disturb our peace of mind. I help people through transitions in their life, trauma, whether that be changes in school/work, relationships, grief and loss, moves, retirement, recreating themselves etc. I help individuals, couples and families communicate in a way that betters their interpersonal relationships. I work with past grief and traumas that get in the way of healthy life functioning. I help people move toward a balanced and happier overall way of life.
I offer an interpersonal style of therapy and I use many modalities and much experience to help individuals, couples and families work through difficulties they may be facing or helping work toward living a more aware, peaceful life. Check out my website for more information. My clients say that they are put at ease with me immediately and I help them.
I am here to listen with a trained ear and help with a easy warmth that will allow you to be gentler with yourself as you become the you that you dreamed to be.

I have a M.A. in Professional Counseling and a B.S. in Psychology. I've received training in EMDR and mindfulness. Over the last twelve years I’ve worked in the mental health field while in a variety of settings. Hi, Im an LCSW who specializes in DBT, RO- DBT and EMDR. I work with folks struggling to regulate their emotions as well as people wanting to gain better access to their emotions. I work with adolescents and adults and love working with folks who are neurodivergent (ADHD and Autism).
I love helping people navigate anxiety and the ups and downs of everyday life—because let’s be honest, it can get a little chaotic. I aim to create a space that feels supportive, nonjudgmental, and real, where you can be yourself. Along the way, I’ll help you gain insight, build tools, and maybe even share a few laughs as you grow into the version of yourself you’re working toward.
As a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, I am passionate about personal growth, both physically and mentally. I find balance through movement, whether it's walking my dogs, hiking, or riding my horses.
I love what I do. I've been providing therapy in various settings for over 4 years, and I bring a direct but very human style to the therapy room. I am certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and I love working with Adult ADHD, folks in recovery from substance use, and women who might be struggling with anxiety and depression and just the general overwhelm of life and putting one foot in front of the other.
