I want to help you help yourself. I believe everyone is capable of change and I will teach you skills to use everyday.
Hello! My name is Kristen. I've been helping others feel more supported, confident, and understood for over fifteen years. Whether you are managing anxiety, trauma, or just life in general, I am looking forward to helping you grow.
You may notice patterns in relationships, emotions, or coping that feel difficult to understand or change. Often these patterns are shaped by past experiences, including trauma or attachment wounds. At times this may show up as anxiety, emotional overwhelm, feeling emotionally unsafe in relationships, or disconnection from yourself or those around you. You may also be navigating identity questions, cultural experiences, grief or life transitions. Therapy can offer a supportive and affirming space to understand these patterns, reduce anxiety, and build healthier relationships.
I am also a clinical associate professor at Brown University, where I teach and supervise clinicians in training. I work with individuals, couples, and veterans navigating relationship patterns, life transitions, and the impact of trauma.
This wild, painful, beautiful human experience can be a lot to process on our own, and it can be empowering to sort it out with a compassionate mental health professional who can be a support throughout your emotional growth. I am committed to showing up with empathy and gentle curiosity in collaboration with my clients. I am licensed in and seeing clients in Colorado, Maine, and Rhode Island.
I have a passion for working with visual artists, writers, poets, musicians, and designers. I am an artist who believes that creative expression can be a way to engage the healing process and help us make meaning in this tumultuous world. I love working with artists and creatives, but you do not need to identify as an artist or creative to collaborate in therapy with me. We all hold the potential for creative healing engagement with ourselves, in relationships, and in the world.
I welcome the opportunity to work with clients of all backgrounds and identities.
I received my MA in Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University, my MFA in Visual Art from Rutgers University, and my BFA in Visual Studies from Iowa State University. Before I became a counselor I spent fifteen years teaching studio art and cultural studies courses at colleges and universities across the United States. As an artist, writer, former academic, and mental health counselor, I have dedicated my life to creating connection and depth in relationships.
I graduated from University of Southern California with my MSW in Social Work in 2014. I have been a school social worker in San Diego County and then in Rhode Island since 2014. I love helping youth navigate anxiety, big feelings, and the pressures of being a teen. I am also a mom of three young kids. This has led me to be passionate about helping women as they navigate becoming a mother, and their transition into this role.
Prior to becoming a psychotherapist I was exactly where you are now reaching out for support. You don't have to go through this alone. I have a Master's Degree in Holistic Counseling and I am also a licensed Mental Health Counselor with 20 years experience working with anxiety, depression, loss and trauma. Therapy helped me to understand myself and cope with my situation. It also led me to my education which, taught me that seeing yourself as a whole gives you more options to choose from when things go wrong. By combining the two I can better support what you most need so you can move forward with purpose and see that there is life beyond coping.
I am a licensed counselor with 15 years of diverse clinical work experience with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. I specialize in complex family difficulties, cultural adaptation, mood disorders, psychosis and neurodevelopmental challenges.
I am a licensed clinical social worker in FL, Idaho, Virginia; licensed independent clinical social worker in Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Rhode Island.
I graduated from Barry University in 2014 and have been working within the mental health and hospital field since.
I enjoy helping others overcome the challenges life throws at them. With the right mindset, support and environment, I believe change is possible.
I provide psychotherapy services to individuals in a collaborative, supportive, and safe environment.
I do NOT currently offer couples or family therapy.*
Healing Across the Lifespan: A Partnership in Mental Wellness
Choosing a mental health provider is a deeply personal decision. You aren’t just looking for a prescriber; you are looking for a witness to your story, an expert in the biological complexities of the brain, and a partner in your recovery.
My name is Jessica Stanley, and I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). My journey to this practice has been defined by a unique duality: the macro view of a healthcare executive and the micro focus of a dedicated clinician. Before opening the doors to this practice, I served as the Clinical Director for a large-scale healthcare organization. In that role, I was responsible for the oversight of complex systems, the mentorship of large clinical teams, and the implementation of evidence-based protocols across diverse populations.
While my time in leadership allowed me to impact mental health at a systemic level, my true passion has always remained in the quiet, transformative moments of the exam room. I have returned to full-time clinical practice to bring that high-level expertise back to where it matters most: the individual human experience.
Mental health does not exist in a vacuum, nor does it look the same at age seven as it does at seventy. I specialize in treating patients across the entire lifespan. Whether I am working with a child struggling to navigate their first years of school, an adolescent facing the pressures of identity formation, or an adult managing the heavy mantle of career and family, my approach remains the same: comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence based.
