I'm Alisha — a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and MSW with nine years of experience working with teens, adults, and families across Rhode Island. My background began in child welfare and behavioral health, which shaped how I work: I understand that the challenges people bring to therapy often run deeper than what shows up on the surface, and that real progress takes trust, time, and a therapeutic relationship that actually feels safe.
I specialize in anxiety, trauma, family conflict, body image, and women's mental health. I'm particularly passionate about working with Black and mixed-race clients, and I'm committed to offering therapy that is culturally responsive — not just culturally competent on paper, but genuinely attuned to the realities of navigating identity, race, and belonging in everyday life.
I offer sessions in North Kingstown and East Providence, as well as telehealth throughout Rhode Island. I have evening and Saturday morning availability, and I accept Aetna, Cigna, Carelon, and several other major insurance plans. A sliding scale is available for those without coverage.
I am a Christian Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My faith in the Holy Trinity of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit greatly shape my life, and my work. I believe you have everything you need within you to achieve your goals and heal.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a therapeutic approach and consulting practice grounded in the belief that healing begins when we learn to see ourselves through a clearer, more empowered lens. As a Nigerian-American woman, my heritage deeply informs my understanding of identity, resilience, spirituality, and community. These values shape the way I hold space for clients and guide them toward alignment with their highest embodiment of self.
My professional background includes years of experience in community mental health, trauma-informed care, and culturally responsive practice. I have supported women, youth, and BIPOC communities through therapy, support groups, and mental health trainings. I am also influenced by Womanist Psychology, which honors the lived experiences, wisdom, and strength of Black women and communities.
My work integrates Western therapeutic approaches with cultural insight, African wisdom, and a holistic understanding of healing. I believe that our lenses or our “vue" are shaped by our stories, our lineage, and the environments that raised us. Through SelfVue, I help clients shift their perspective, reconnect with their inner strength, and cultivate a grounded sense of self-worth.
Whether through individual therapy, consultation, or organizational support, my goal is to create a warm, intuitive, and culturally attuned space where clients feel seen, affirmed, and supported in their journey toward self-actualization.
I am currently accepting new clients. I provide children, teenagers, and adults a safe and supportive place to get help with emotional or behavioral challenges. I customize each treatment plan to the patient's preferences, using traditional medication management and/or integrative psychiatry to provide a holistic approach to improve each patient's mental health and overall balance, helping you be happier. You are not alone; I can help you throughout this journey.
Graduated from Duke University and the University of Pennsylvania, I bring over 8 years of experience in the psychiatric and mental health field, caring for patients at Johns Hopkins Medicine, Sheppard Pratt Hospital, St. Joseph Medical Center (University of MD), St. Vincent's Villa (Catholic Charities, MD), and Thundermist Health Care (Rhode Island).
My goal is to help you function at your best while building confidence and stability. I genuinely care about my patients. Together, we can find a path for you to live your best life. Give me a call or send me a text for a brief free introductory chat, no commitment required.
Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from the life you want to live? I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) dedicated to helping adults navigate life’s complexities by finding clarity. My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel truly heard and supported. My experience in clinical work includes emergency department, community, and outpatient behavioral health settings. I help clients with anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, trauma and PTSD, anger management, insomnia, and gender dysphoria. Together, we will uncover your strengths, examine problems, and take an evidenced based approach to self discovery.

You may notice patterns in relationships, emotions, or coping that feel difficult to understand or change. Often these patterns are shaped by past experiences, including trauma or attachment wounds. At times this may show up as anxiety, emotional overwhelm, feeling emotionally unsafe in relationships, or disconnection from yourself or those around you. You may also be navigating identity questions, cultural experiences, grief or life transitions. Therapy can offer a supportive and affirming space to understand these patterns, reduce anxiety, and build healthier relationships.
I am also a clinical associate professor at Brown University, where I teach and supervise clinicians in training. I work with individuals, couples, and veterans navigating relationship patterns, life transitions, and the impact of trauma.
