As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 7 years of clinical experience, I work with adults from all walks of life who find mental health problems making life harder- whether these problems have been in nagging in the background for years, have come on as a sudden crisis, or are something you are unsure about needing help with. I provide mental health assessment and treatment, including medications when appropriate, to help get you feeling like yourself again and staying that way.
I have been a counselor for more than 30 years. I remain passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and believe that genuine caring is an essential element to an effective counseling relationship. Over the years I have worked with clients with significant trauma and loss. I consider it a privilege to stand with another individual as he or she resolves great pain. I specialize in treating clients with trauma, relationship issues, and borderline personality disorder.
I grew up in rural PA working on my grandfather's potato farm, learning equine therapy benefits starting at age eight. I joined the food industry as a waitress and worked throughout my RN undergrad.
I began my nursing career after earning my BSN from IUP in 2015, stepping directly into the fast‐paced world of behavioral health care within emergency room settings. Those early years shaped my clinical foundation and deepened my commitment to supporting individuals who have experienced trauma. I continued to grow, learning medicine, therapeutic communications skills, de-escalation techniques while working inpatient contracts at various facilities across PA, including child and adolescent units, adult and geriatric units, and correctional facility contracts.
Driven to expand efficient care through impact, I completed my MSN as a Psychiatric‐Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in November 2024. I initially provided inpatient hospital care, gaining valuable experiences in a new psychiatric treatment facility. As my career and family needs evolved, I discovered that remote psychiatric care offered the balance and flexibility that best supported both my professional goals and home life balance. My passion for farms, animals, and my large blended and busy family will help my clients see why I enjoy offering them a decade of behavioral health experience. With my advanced PMHNP training, I will deliver compassionate, accessible mental health support in a comfortable virtual setting.
Lily Ross has been in nursing since 2016, treating children age 12 and up, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients in inpatient and outpatient settings. She has a special interest in adolescent and young adults, neurodivergent LGBTQAI+ and developmentally disabled populations. She is experienced in treating adults with PTSD, depression, OCD, anxiety and a variety of behavioral heath issues. Lily has an undergraduate degree in Art from Rhode Island School of Design and BSN from University of Massachusetts Boston. Her Master’s in PMHNP is from Regis College. She has studied Buddhist Psychology at Spirit Rock and is certified by Polaris to provide KAP. She is a student of Soto Zen Buddhism at New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care and certified to provide contemplative care by the University of Arizona Andrew Well Center for Integrative Medicine. She offers aspects of these studies through evidence-based, scientifically proven methods to help improve mental health.
I’m warm, down-to-earth, and genuinely invested in the people I work with. I want therapy to feel like a safe, comfortable conversation where you can show up exactly as you are—even on the days when you don’t quite know what to say.
I use empathy, honesty, and humor in my sessions, and I’m not afraid to be direct when I think it will help you grow. I’ll validate what you’re feeling, but I’ll also gently challenge you to look at patterns, consider different perspectives, and recognize the things that may be keeping you stuck. I’m not the kind of therapist who will simply nod for an hour while you do all the work.
I believe you are the expert on your own life. My job is to listen, help you make sense of what you’re experiencing, and give you practical tools to create meaningful change. We can talk about the hard things, celebrate the wins, laugh when we need to, and work together toward helping you feel more like the person you want to be.
I'm an LCSW with expertise in brain and behavior and additional specialty in addiction
