Hi there, my name’s Ephraim and I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 20+ years of experience. My specialties consist of relationships, men’s issues, career counseling, and psychosomatic illnesses.

I received my Bachelors degree in Child Psychology, working initially with the adolescent population before transitioning over to adults. I then received my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado, Nevada, and Massachusetts, and have been practicing therapy professionally for over 15 years. Throughout my career, I have been privileged to support many different communities and I bring the skills and knowledge I've learned along the way into the work I do with my clients.
I focus on Sex Therapy, Trauma, Anxiety, Relationship Issues, Personal Growth and Development, Men's Issues, and Existential Issues. I utilize several approaches, including: Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Somatic Therapy.
I am an EMDR trained therapist. I have specialized training in parts and memory, and substance abuse. I have over 9 years experience in the mental health field. I have experience treating issues related to both mental health and addiction. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, as well as, grief & loss among many other mental health issues. I approach therapy as a collaborator. My method is client-centered and humanistic. I aim to accompany my clients in achieving the goals brought into the therapeutic environment with openness, empathy, and compassion. Creating goals in small steps is vital for progress and change. Identifying insecure attachment and dysfunctional patterns will lead to lasting change. My clients can learn to recognize unhealthy cycles and gain a deeper understanding of their attachment styles.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in 1998 from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and my Master's Degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy in 2001 from UNLV as well. I have been seeing clients in private practice for over 25 years. I have been an AAMFT Approved Supervisor for over 15 years. I have worked in many capacities, including school counseling, teaching, juvenile justice, and community agency work. In April 2023, I began working as the Clinic Director at UNLV's Center for Individual, Couple, and Family Counseling at Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine. I continue to maintain a small private practice and supervise state interns in MFT and LCPC.
I have expertise in CBT, DBT, ABFT, EFT, and EMDR. I use a combination of attachment-based and trauma-informed theories, which provide strong foundations for healing and skill-building.
Brenda obtained her master’s degree in social work from Simmons University followed by a CSW internship. “ Brenda is passionate about her ~mission and craft~ in helping, guiding, & challenging clients to be the best versions of themselves according to their personal goals set”.
Having over 15+ years of professional experience in the helping field and caring for the needs of those in need, and 7 years of experience working with the mental health needs of children and adolescents in the private sector and school setting. In addition, Brenda has worked for more than 15 years as a nurse working with families, & individuals in the hospital & rehab facilities by supporting clients through life misfortunes.
