Struggling with focus, organization, or time management? Headway connects Grand Rapids residents with neurodivergent-affirming providers specializing in ADHD treatment through cognitive restructuring, mindfulness interventions, and practical productivity strategies.
I offer support and skills to those exploring identity, intimacy, or relational complexity—whether in gender, sexuality, kink, or deocolonized relationships. They may be sitting with grief, unraveling the impact of trauma, or feeling the weight of past experiences in their body. They long for connection but struggle with vulnerability, trust, or belonging. Some feel stuck in cycles of overwhelm, while others are questioning the stories they’ve been told about who they are. They seek a space where they can be seen without judgment, process their experiences, and make sense of the systems shaping their lives.
Is your child struggling with anxiety, depression, or trauma? Parenting in today’s world is harder than ever, and you don’t have to navigate these challenges alone. I offer a safe, supportive space where your child can develop coping strategies, emotional awareness, and inner resilience. Together, we can help your child build the skills they need to thrive, while also providing you with the tools to support them at home.
I currently reside in Northeast Michigan along the beautiful Lake Huron and have a license to practice in Michigan. I am passionate about supporting individuals on their journey toward self-understanding and an overall well-being. As a clinician, I believe in creating a safe, compassionate space where you feel heard and understood.
Taking the step to seek support isn’t easy, and I want to honor the courage it takes to be here. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Life Coach, and retired Army veteran who believes caring for your mental health is essential to living a balanced, fulfilling life. I’m passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and reconnect with themselves. I work with teens and adults who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, or major life transitions, and I strive to meet you with respect, compassion, and understanding.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in your emotions, or constantly fighting your own mind, you’re not alone. Many teens and adults I work with describe racing thoughts, intense feelings, difficulty focusing, or patterns that feel impossible to break. Whether it’s anxiety that won’t quiet down, depression that drains your energy, ADHD that makes daily life harder than it should be, or trauma that still echoes in the present—I help people find steadiness, clarity, and confidence again.
Hi! I am Valerie L. Rennon MSN, APRN, WHNP-BC, PMHNP-BC. I am a dual board certified nurse practitioner in both psychiatric mental health and women's health across the lifespan. I am a graduate from Michigan State University, University of Colorado Anschutz, University of Texas Arlington and Colorado Mountain College. As a Master of Social Work–trained therapist, my experience in hospice and mental health has given me a deep appreciation for the challenges that come with grief, anxiety, and major life transitions. I work with adults ages 18+ and provide a warm, practical, and unhurried space where you can feel heard and supported. Together, we'll explore what's getting in the way of the life you want and identify meaningful steps toward change.
