I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with 30 years of nursing experience.

Because the world of mental health acronyms can be confusing, I like to be clear about my role: I am a specialized advanced practice nurse, not a traditional talk therapist. My primary focus is on medical and diagnostic care, featuring carefully tailored medication management. However, I firmly believe that medicine is only part of the puzzle. That is why supportive psychotherapy is deeply woven into our sessions together, alongside guidance on lifestyle changes to support your daily wellness. I work with people who are living with depression, anxiety, bipolar, schizo-affective disorder, adjustment disorder or are going through difficulties and need assistance moving towards a better way of life. I enjoy working with people to manage symptoms, stress and the everyday challenges of dealing with a mental health issue.

In my spare time I enjoy art, creativity, music, dance, acting and writing. I work with crystals, candles, oracle cards, but am also grounded in science. I do a lot of mindfulness.

I am a member of the MAMCD, the Maryland Association of Multicultural Counseling and Development as well as MASERVIC, the Maryland Association of Spiritual, Ethical, Religious Values in Counseling.

Dr. Seraphine Agbor is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner CRNP-PMH, graduated with a Doctorate from Chatham University. Dr. Agbor has over seven years of experience working with patients dealing with addiction and mental illnesses. She works with patients dealing with depression, anxiety disorders, substance use disorder, PTSD, schizophrenia, and many others. She utilizes a mix of medications and psychotherapy, and works with devoted staff to offer alternative treatments that may be beneficial to patients. Dr. Agbor follows evidence-based guidelines blended with clinical experience, personal observation, and intuition. She also ensures the quality of care, and open communication lines between all members of the healthcare team. Dr. Agbor has strong clinical skills, enhanced by her natural ability to build rapport with patients and families.

I specialize in medication management in treating mood, anxiety, psychotic, and substance use disorders. In the past, I worked as an RN in a dual diagnosis inpatient psychiatric unit. Recently, I have working in an outpatient private practice.

I am a single women with two grown beautiful daughters. I am a cat lady with two adorable cats who greet me at the door and sleep with me at night. I have been a therapist for many years and thoroughly enjoy getting to know people and witness their growth over time.

I am a licensed Social Worker with more than 25 years experience working in the field of Mental Health. I have worked with individuals and families with a particular emphasis on crisis intervention and the impact of mental illness on the family system. My experiences have included assisting clients learn to manage mood disorders and anxiety and learn skills related to anger management, healthy relationships, parenting and boundary setting. I have extensive experience assisting individuals within the correctional system with learning skills needed for successful reentry into the community.
