I work with teens 16 years+ and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, identity questions, trauma, ADHD, and self esteem struggles. Many of my clients come to therapy trying to understand themselves better and figure out why certain patterns keep showing up in their lives.
As a parent and therapist, I understand how life experiences, family dynamics, and past challenges shape who we become. Clients often describe me as open minded, supportive, and empowering. I aim to create a space where you can be honest about what you are going through while also feeling encouraged to grow and move forward.
I am a licensed counselor in Georgia and Tennessee with over 25 years of professional counseling experience. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work in 1992 and my Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2000. I later completed my Post‐Master’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling Certification at Freed‐Hardeman University in 2019. I have worked in private practice and as a crisis assessor, supporting adults, couples, children, and families. I specialize in anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, grief and loss, family conflict, and crisis intervention. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence‐based practices.
- Authentic, community focused, and candid. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine connection, not a clinical interview.
- The Toolkit: I lean on heavy hitters like DBT and CBT, plus a little Gottman magic for relationships. In Essence, I give you the tools to regulate your emotions and distress to be able to get through the "tough stuff."
- The Specialties: I’m your go-to for navigating life transitions, self esteem/self worth, mastering relationship dynamics, or finding your footing as a young adult.
