I have been on my own healing journey for 40+ years and so I know personally how much courage and effort it can take to heal and grow. I also know how amazing life and relationships can get as a part of that healing process; I wish that experience for everyone.
I've been honored to work with people of all ages who face challenges with trauma, relationship problems, and mood problems, among other challenges.
Participating in therapy is a process of showing up for yourself on a path of self discovery where you can find the places in yourself that are best suited for who you are today and the goals and visions you wish to achieve. Each session should be a collaborative journey with a therapist holding safe space for you guiding you toward becoming the person you have always had it within yourself to become. As a therapist I believe in meeting every individual where they are and where they are ready to start. Doing this I am given a chance to help people achieve the life they have envisioned and desired for themselves.

As a Black/African American woman, I am passionate about working with people of color (especially people of color who identify as LGBTIA+) in destigmatizing mental health in our communities and identifying how systemic racism/systemic oppression affect our mental health.

I'm Josiah — a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) practicing via telehealth across California. My work centers on three communities I care deeply about: veterans navigating the often-invisible work of coming home, LGBTQ+ individuals and couples looking for a therapist who genuinely gets it, and parents who are doing their best while carrying more than they show. I'm Transgender Allied, trained in trauma-informed and multicultural frameworks, and I work with individuals, couples, and families. Before anything else, I work hard to make sure you feel like yourself in the session — not a diagnosis, not a file.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and life transitions! I am also experienced in supporting individuals facing relationship challenges, identity development, and difficulties with emotional regulation. As a Queer therapist, I'm passionate about working with the LGBTQ+ population. I am drawn to this work because I value the depth and resilience within each person’s story. My approach is grounded in attachment-based theory and informed by evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
