If you've been carrying something heavy — trauma, grief, a past you haven't fully processed — I want you to know: healing is possible, and you don't have to do it alone.
I'm Layla DeLoach Kirkley, a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) with nearly 20 years of experience. I spent much of my career working directly with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking in nonprofit settings — and that work shaped everything about how I show up for my clients today.
I hold a BS in Psychology and an MS in Counseling and Human Development, and I use evidence-based approaches like CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness techniques — always tailored to what you need, not a one-size-fits-all plan.
I work with teens (ages 13+), adults, couples, and families across a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, PTSD, low self-esteem, disordered eating, grief, life transitions, and LGBTQIA+ identity. I see clients in-person in Montgomery and Selma, AL, and via telehealth in Alabama and Florida.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Therapist with over 12 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and geriatric populations. I’ve practiced in various settings such as outpatient mental health clinics, in-patient psychiatric hospitals, in-home and virtually. I specialize in anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, anger management issues along with trauma and abuse.
As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), I am passionate about helping people move beyond simply surviving and begin thriving! I believe therapy should be a space where you feel seen, supported, challenged, empowered to create meaningful change in your life, and did I say feel seen?! :-)
For the past 8 years, I’ve worked closely with elderly and disabled individuals, supporting them through life’s emotional and practical challenges. Before becoming a social worker, I worked in banking, but I felt a strong pull toward work that allowed me to truly make a difference in people’s lives. That calling led me to counseling. I bring compassion, patience, and a deep respect for each person’s story into the work we do together.
I have been a counselor for more than 30 years. I remain passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and believe that genuine caring is an essential element to an effective counseling relationship. Over the years I have worked with clients with significant trauma and loss. I consider it a privilege to stand with another individual as he or she resolves great pain. I specialize in treating clients with trauma, relationship issues, and borderline personality disorder.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been licensed for 24 years and have worked with children and adults in Community Mental Health settings, parenting programs, Child Protective Services and drug education. I use person-centered, behavior therapy, thought changing, unconditional positive regard, solution-focused and reality therapy to name a few. I have worked with ADHD, OCD, grief issues, trauma and abuse, and mental illness.
Maybe you have been holding it together at work while quietly coming apart at home. Maybe your teenager has changed in ways you do not understand and you are out of ideas. Maybe you have reached a season where the strategies that carried you this far have simply stopped working. I am Claudia Arns-Hall, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Alabama, and I treat each client as if they were my only client. I came to counseling as a second career. For more than twenty years I worked in human resources, training, and leadership development for organizations including State Street, Revlon, and Southern Company, and I served as a human resources director before making the change. Because I felt a calling in my life to assist others, I earned my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, and I also hold an M.S. from Lesley University and a B.S. in Business Administration. For the past four years I have worked at Hill Crest Behavioral Health Services, first as a therapist on the Acute Adult Unit and Patient Intensive Care Unit and now as Clinical Coordinator for the acute unit, where I also train and mentor newer therapists. That is emergency-room-paced behavioral health work, which means very little you bring me will be unfamiliar and none of it will shock me. I have served both adults and adolescents. If you want someone thorough, involved, and genuinely focused on your individual situation rather than on a protocol, that is what I offer.
Thank you for taking this step of therapy. I am here to support you in your journey to healing. I'd like to support you with managing individual and Family concerns. We will utilize healthier coping skills, problem-solving techniques, decision-making tools and individualized effective techniques that serves your unique goals for therapy. I look forward to seeing you soon.
My focus is to help individuals and families build resiliency to heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. We achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan to connect you with simple strategies that would assist you with achieving your full potential.
I am a licensed social work therapist in Alabama. I have 25+ years of experience in therapy and social services.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who believes that healing happens best in spaces that are safe, honest, and non-judgmental. I work with those who are navigating stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, and the effects of trauma.
My approach is collaborative and practical. We will focus on understanding what’s showing up in your life, identifying patterns that may be holding you back, and developing tools you can use in real-world situations. I don’t believe in perfection—I believe in progress.
Clients often describe me as direct, supportive, and easy to talk to. I meet you where you are while also helping you move toward where you want to be. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for something different, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
