After 15 years in tech marketing, I went to the University of Texas at Arlington to earn my Master's in Social Work. Upon graduation, I worked toward my clinical license at a Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Program. Here, I worked with clients with severe mental health problems to find stability and gain the tools necessary to find success in life after program. This setting allowed me to work across the full spectrum of mental health issues, specifically with mood and personality disorders, trauma, self-harm, suicidal ideation, psychosis, and other high-acuity issues.
I am a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner (APRN-CNP) practicing in Texas, dedicated to treating the whole person. I specialize in medication management for adults navigating complex psychological challenges. Recognizing that healing rarely follows a straight line and that taking the first step requires immense courage, I provide a structured, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for your recovery.
I believe that self-compassion and self-acceptance are essential for promoting growth and healing. My work with clients is informed by multiple therapeutic approaches grounded in psychodynamic, attachment, somatic, emotion-focused, and mindfulness-based techniques to help clients reconnect with themselves and heal at a core level. I regularly utilize AEDP, ISTDP and Internal Family Systems with clients. I aim to help clients heal the source of their distress, build capacity for emotion expression and regulation, and incorporate behaviors that lead to a healthier self and stronger relationships.
I received my B.A. in Psychology from Vassar College and my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Palo Alto University in Palo Alto, CA.
Born and raised in Dublin, I have provided counseling, coaching, and wellness workshops for individuals and organizations across the US, Europe, and Asia for the last eight years.
I offer a space for individuals to explore issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationships, identity, loneliness and meaning.
I work well with children, adolescents and adults, parents, couples and families. I work with helping people improve their self concept, eliminating negative thoughts that disturb our peace of mind. I help people through transitions in their life, trauma, whether that be changes in school/work, relationships, grief and loss, moves, retirement, recreating themselves etc. I help individuals, couples and families communicate in a way that betters their interpersonal relationships. I work with past grief and traumas that get in the way of healthy life functioning. I help people move toward a balanced and happier overall way of life.
I offer an interpersonal style of therapy and I use many modalities and much experience to help individuals, couples and families work through difficulties they may be facing or helping work toward living a more aware, peaceful life. Some of my passions include working with BIPOC and LGBTQ+ folks. I enjoy working with individuals and couples. I have additional training on Emotion Focused Therapy allowing me to connect with attachment needs and help heal through establishing a secure attachment in relationships.
Hi and Welcome! I'm grateful you're taking the time to explore what connecting with me may be like. I was twenty-something when life taught me strong relationships are the key to health and well-being. Neuroscience has proven this true and we now know that we are inherently wired for connection on a neurobiological level. Connection isn’t a luxury, it’s essential to our survival. Ironically, it’s connection that can also be the source of our most profound pain and suffering. No matter how deep the hurt or how great the loss, things can shift when we feel seen, heard, and understood by another. We heal in connection with others.
Starting this journey—whether it feels overwhelming, hopeful, or somewhere in between—takes courage, and I’m here to support you every step of the way. I work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-worth, and the lasting impact of early family dynamics.
I strive to create a warm, nurturing, nonjudgmental space that is inclusive and collaborative, allowing us to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Using evidence-based approaches as well as humor and compassion, my goal is to partner with my clients to empower to help them to confidently navigate life’s challenges. Together we will explore stressors, limiting beliefs, and past trauma that may be impeding you from reaching your full potential, while also exploring your unique strengths and abilities. My 19 years of experience working in the school system, as a school counselor, is very helpful when I'm working with teens.
