I have been licensed as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor since 2004 and have held a supervision designation since 2015. I have also held a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor with a supervision/training designation license since 2018. I have maintained a private counseling practice in Chillicothe since 2000 and I continue to work with individuals and families in that capacity. I have dedicated my career to helping others and to working with the community to ensure the well-being of families and children.
My communication style
My communication tone or approach tends to be direct but laid back. We are in session to work together not have me tell you what to do or where you need to go
My approach is always affirming and collaborative. I work with late diagnosed, or suspected adults with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and giftedness, as well as LGBTQ+ community. I aim to treat each person with the respect and dignity they deserve and feel honored to meet you where you are & take this journey with you. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida & a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Ohio. I completed my professional degree at Nova Southeastern University (FL)
I became a therapist because I believe our struggles deserve to be understood, not just fixed. Too often, people come to therapy feeling like a problem to be solved or a checklist to work through, and that's exactly what I want to push back against. My goal is to help you feel more human, not more clinical.
I earned my Master's in Social Work from Northern Kentucky University in 2014 and hold a certificate in ADHD treatment. I work with adults navigating ADHD, depression, anxiety, and substance use disorder, and I bring both professional training and personal familiarity to these areas. I know this stuff isn't abstract. It shows up in real life, in real ways, every day.

Hello, I'm Valerie!
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Montana and Ohio with a decade of experience in the mental health field, I am passionate about helping people reconnect with their authentic selves.
I founded Wild Living Therapy not only because of my deep love for wildlife and nature but also because I believe we all carry untamed, misunderstood aspects of ourselves—parts that may feel "too wild" or difficult to accept. My goal is to create a space where you can honor these parts, step into your power, and recognize your worth.
You're not broken—you are whole. Let’s navigate this journey together.
Hi, I am Joe, a licensed mental health therapist. I believe that people are capable of change, which is why I do what I do. It's understandable if you come to therapy feeling low and unmotivated. This is normal. Your first step in coming here is a big deal and not an easy decision or task. That right there is motivation. I believe in a collaborative approach and meeting you where you are in your life. I am not an expert on you, but we can work together to understand what is getting in the way of your goals and make plans to address these areas. I am here to help you figure out what needs to change and to guide you through the process of improving your mental health and growing as a person. I am a caring, open, and non-judgmental person, who loves cats, music, reading, and video games. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, especially around a bon fire.

Factors to Consider When Choosing an LGBTQIA Therapist in Cleveland, OH
Finding LGBTQIA+ therapists in Cleveland starts with looking for care that is identity-affirming and relevant to your needs. A strong fit may include experience with LGBTQIA+ care, gender identity, sexual orientation, family or relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, or trauma. As you compare therapists, look for training or experience in affirmative therapy, WPATH-informed care, gender-diverse support, or work with LGBTQIA+ communities. A therapist’s bio can also show how they describe their approach, who they support, and what you can expect in sessions.
Cleveland has a range of mental health care options, from local offices near downtown and surrounding neighborhoods to virtual appointments across Ohio. Affirming therapists may be fewer than general therapists in some areas, so virtual care can expand your options while keeping insurance coverage part of the search. When narrowing your list, consider appointment availability, whether the therapist is accepting new patients, and whether their background, identity, or listed specialties match what you want in care. If you are also searching for terms like “LGBTQ clinic near me,” “gender health center,” or “pride clinic Cleveland,” therapist profiles can help you understand whether a clinician offers the kind of support you’re looking for.
Therapy in Cleveland can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to lower session costs and make care easier to access. Headway helps you search for LGBTQIA+ therapists in Cleveland who are accepting new patients, review detailed bios, check your estimated out-of-pocket cost before booking, and choose between virtual and in-person options. You can compare therapists by specialty, availability, approach, and insurance fit, then book directly when you’re ready.
