I believe every individual has the capacity and courage to learn, grow, and make positive choices for their present and future. Throughout my career, I have worked with people to strengthen mental health, improve academic and professional performance, and build skills for long-term success. I continued to be humbled by the determination people have to tackle challenges and hardships to improve their quality of life.
I am an LCSW with over 20 years of experience. I have worked as a school social worker and then as a forensic interviewer for most of my career, while also maintaining a small private practice throughout. I work mostly with teens and adults experiencing symptoms related to anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress, trauma, life transitions (college, marriage, parenting, divorce, moving, etc). I practice a nonjudgmental, empathetic approach. I can be helpful with practical solutions and strategies. I aim for you to feel heard and hopeful after every session.
Are you ready for change? I work with individuals who are ready to better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and create meaningful change. My goal is to meet you where you're at in helping you navigate through trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, or if you're simply feeling stuck and unsure of a way forward. Many recognize that the ways they have been coping are no longer working, or they may be experiencing a significant change, loss, conflict, or period of emotional distress and I can help by supporting you in processing dark or difficult times and learning new skills to adapt and overcome.
Growing up and transitioning into adulthood, I always felt that I needed a "person". Someone who could be there to support me through the hardships and uncertainties of life. Someone who was unbiased and was there to just listen or to be that shoulder to cry on when I felt like no one in the world would be able to understand me. Being that person that I once needed, is what fueled the desire within to become a therapist.
