I have been a Social Worker for 30 years! That's crazy for me to think about because I am not THAT old......and I have learned a lot (about myself) along the way. I have learned that I do like to talk to people more than I let on. I have learned that I can be very patient listener and I give good feedback. And, I have learned that, at some point, we all have to make changes in our lives and that can be scary. I have also learned it's not as scary when we talk about it out loud........just saying.

I'm Janna Williams, and my path to becoming a therapist is anything but traditional — and I think that's exactly what makes me effective. After 30 years with the State of North Carolina, I retired and did what most people wouldn't: I started over. I became a mobile crisis team responder, showed up for people in their hardest moments, and discovered exactly where I was meant to be. I hold a degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology from UNC Charlotte (Go Niners! 🤘) and earned my Master of Social Work from UNC Pembroke in 2022 (Go Braves! 🏹). My background spans the judicial system, child welfare, substance use, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention — which means I've seen a lot, and very little surprises or intimidates me. I'm here with you at Greater Vision Counseling Services, Southern Pines, and I am genuinely honored to be part of your story.

I'm a therapist who believes real change happens in the space between people, not on a worksheet. I work with adults navigating anxiety, relationship patterns, grief, and the quiet exhaustion of carrying things alone. With 7 years of experience, I bring EMDR, IFS, and deep relational work to every session, but more than any modality, I bring genuine curiosity about you as a person. If you're ready to stop hitting the same wall and start understanding

why it's there, I'd love to work alongside you.
