I believe that therapy can have a great impact on one's life. If one is motivated, one can resolve problems, feel better, and address past hardships. I received my undergraduate degree from Stanford University and my Masters of Social Work from Columbia University. I have resided in both the United States and Latin America. I have always known I wanted to be a therapist. From a young age I was empathic, patient, validating, comforting, flexible, and trustworthy. I believe that these were attributes that my friends and family seek me out for advice or to vent.
I studied psychology at Ithaca College and then worked for 4 years in foster care and group homes in NJ and NYC. Then, I moved to Boston and got my masters in mental health counseling at UMass Boston. Since graduating, I have worked in a wide variety of mental health environments; programs, schools, community based mental health, and virtual therapy platforms.
I am someone who is passionate about helping others and making everyone I meet feel heard, seen, and empowered.
We all need connection, community, and the ability to be our authentic selves in order to thrive. Many of us are not provided these attachment needs in childhood, and we grow into adulthood burdened by this wounding, unsure of how to relate safely and from a place of wholeness. If you struggle to align your inner and outer worlds, find yourself repeating difficult relational patterns, or feel as if your authentic self must remain hidden, I would love to work with you. I am particularly interested in supporting the health of queer families and cooperatives.
My ideal client is someone wrestling with feelings of shame, guilt, and a lack of authenticity. They may be navigating societal pressures or personal challenges that keep them from embracing who they are fully. Often, they feel held back by the weight of living up to others' expectations and yearn for a life where they can be unapologetically themselves. They want a space to explore and validate their lived experiences, uncover their genuine self, and build a life that feels both radically authentic and fulfilling.
With over 15 years of experience, I believe in considering the unique perspectives and experiences of each individual and tailoring the counseling process to your needs and context.
