I've been doing this work for over 15 years · long enough to have sat with a wide range of human
experiences, and still find each person genuinely interesting. I specialize in working with adults navigating
anxiety, depression, identity questions, and life transitions, with a particular focus on LGBTQIA+ individuals
and people in diverse or non-traditional relationships. I'm a cisgender man, and I recognize that matters · I
work hard to be a therapist who earns trust across the gender and identity spectrum. I'm affirming not as a
policy, but because I've built my practice around it. I'm licensed in Colorado, Massachusetts, and Rhode
Island and see clients entirely via telehealth · flexibility without compromising quality of care.
I’m Mackenzie, a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner dedicated to helping children, adolescents, and adults find balance, clarity, and confidence through compassionate, evidence-based care. I believe mental health treatment should feel personal, not clinical.
I have 26 years of experience dealing with individuals, couples, families in therapy. We will work together to develop plans that are unique and right for you.
You know what you want to accomplish, but getting started or staying on track can feel harder than it should. Whether you're managing ADHD, anxiety, panic attacks, or feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns, I'm here to help you understand what's getting in the way and build strategies that work in your everyday life. I work with adults 18+ and provide a supportive, affirming space where you can gain insight, strengthen your confidence, and make meaningful, lasting changes.
I believe that everyone deserves to be heard, regardless of their background or circumstances. Whether you are struggling with excessive worry or negative thoughts, overwhelmed by schoolwork as a student, supporting a family member with autism or developmental disability, or facing challenges as a member of a marginalized group in society, it is common to feel hopeless and worthless at times. However, you do not have to give in to these feelings.
I have over 25 years’ experience and training in psychiatric rehabilitation sciences and approach therapy from a recovery model. I believe that with the right skills and supports people can do anything. I use a strengths-based approach; rather than focusing on diagnosis I focus on what the individual brings to therapy, what obstacles are present and the individual’s strengths. I work hard to facilitate a trusting relationship and create a non-judgmental space for my clients to grow and thrive. I utilize CBT, Relapse Prevention and Motivational Enhancement Therapy. I believe people are the expert in their recovery, and it is my job to help bring that expertise to the forefront of treatment.
I work with people of all ages who are trying to make sense of what's going on in their lives and figure out what needs to change. They may be dealing with stress, relationship difficulties, major transitions, attention or learning difficulties, or patterns they've struggled to change on their own. Before becoming a therapist, I spent years working in business and other practical, people-focused roles, which gave me a firsthand understanding of the competing demands and pressures of everyday life.
I have over twenty years of experience with anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship issues and parenting, among other issues. In particular, I have worked with loneliness, burnout, social anxiety, and self esteem.
My education is from Binghamton University, Boston College, and Northeastern University. Fully licensed in NY and MA, I have additional specialized training in trauma informed care, DBT, grief, and anxiety.
