Hello! My name is Jason Porter. I work with adults, and teens and couples who are struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, or just some general life struggles. I know from experience that life can be difficult, and sometimes getting some help can make all the difference. I love to listen and help others live the life they want to live. I believe this is my purpose and feel blessed to be able to help. I started my mental health career working at a community mental health center for several years. I then moved on to School counseling, and now I am working in private practice.
As a clinical therapist for 12 years I believe that having a good therapeutic experience can add to your life and those around you immensely. Getting started is often the hardest part so congratulations on taking this step! I work mainly with clients experiencing difficulty with relationships, including but not limited to romantic relationships or family. If you are needing help with changing unhealthy patterns and finding new ways of being in relationship this is my specialty. I also have experience working with neurodivergent issues with individuals and well as in relationships.
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with over eight years of nursing experiencing, including more than six years in the intensive care. My experience caring for patients during some of the most difficult moments of their lives, along with my own journey with therapy and mental health treatment, inspired me to pursue a career in psychiatry.
I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, stress, and life transitions. I also enjoy helping children with anxiety, depression, and ADHD. My goal is to create a compassionate, judgment-free space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes.

Life flows from the heart, so it's worth caring for. Heart Work Therapy was born out of my own journey of facing life's challenges and discovering that healing is possible. I know firsthand that meaningful change rarely happens alone.
The compassion, resilience, and hope I've gained through my own experiences allow me to come alongside others with empathy and understanding. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, or simply feeling stuck, you don't have to carry it by yourself. My desire is to provide a safe place where you feel seen, supported, and empowered as we work together toward healing and lasting change.
If you’re feeling weighed down by anxiety, depression, trauma, mood shifts, or ADHD symptoms and wondering whether medication could help, you’re not alone. I work with teens and adults navigating mood and anxiety disorders, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, and stress-related challenges.
Clients often tell me they appreciate my mix of medical expertise and genuine compassion. With a background in both psychiatry and intensive medical care, I understand how closely the mind and body are connected. My goal is to make care accessible and consistent, which is why I offer flexible scheduling and telehealth appointments.
In our first sessions, we’ll review your history, clarify your symptoms, and determine whether medication is appropriate. If it is, we’ll build a treatment plan that feels realistic, evidence-based, and aligned with your goals and overall health.
Outside of work, I find balance through yoga, comedy, time with my dog, and enjoying sunny days — reminders that healing comes from both steady progress and moments of joy.
I believe in meeting my clients where they're at. They are the expert in their own story. I'm just here to listen, help process, maybe challenge, and encourage them in their journey.
