Hello! I'm Tommy Hampton, IV. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My extensive education and training have equipped me to specialize in a holistic approach in areas such as Couple's Dynamics, Family Systems, Men's Issues, Christian Counseling, LGBTQIA+, Grief, Stress Management, Anger Management, Cultural Competency Issues, and Personal Growth.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC016639) in the state of Georgia and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (MH22156) in the state of Florida. I've worked in a variety of settings, such as psychiatric hospitals, crisis stabilization units, community agencies and college campuses. My clients have a wide range in age, gender, sexual orientation, faith, education level, ethnicity, and cultural background. In my practice, I like to focus on life transitions, whether it's leaving a job, becoming a parent, or starting college.

I am a licensed clinical social worker, meaning I studied both psychology and the context (environmental and social) that contributes to mental health challenges. Throughout my career, I've worked with those recovering from trauma and addiction. Most of my clients are healing from experiences of violence, abuse, sexual assault, and/or neglect. In an effort to address symptoms faster, I obtained training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

As a General (Adult) and Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist, I am passionate about empowering all ages on their journey towards mental health and well-being.

I completed a residency in General Psychiatry and fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Georgia's prestigious medical college, one of the oldest medical schools in the nation. This expert, specialized training has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to understand the unique psychological needs of children, adolescents, and adults.

I am a Board Certified Psychiatrist, Board Certified Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist, and am also a Board Certified Pediatrician (triple-trained in General Pediatrics, General Psychiatry, and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry). I completed a pediatrics residency at NYC’s only academic Children’s Hospital in Brooklyn, SUNY Downstate, with additional pediatric and psychiatric internships at Brooklyn’s Maimonides Medical Center.

I graduated with my medical degree (Doctorate) with clinical accolades from New York’s oldest osteopathic medical school, NYIT.

I specialize in sex therapy and relationship counseling for LGBTQ+, gender-expansive, kink-involved, and consensually non-monogamous adults. You may feel capable and self-aware in most areas of life yet unsettled in your closest relationships. Together, we will connect the dots between present triggers and earlier relational experiences so recurring patterns can be understood and shifted with intention.
