I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who spent a number of years working as a therapist in Georgia before returning to Upstate NY. I work with individuals, couples and families. I help people navigate their stories and better know the strengths and the resources they possess to cope with difficult situations. Previously I worked for more than 20 years as a journalist. I'm a husband, father, guitarist and runner.

Tameka Dennis is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She has an office located in Murfreesboro TN. Tameka received her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology 2011 from Tennessee State University. She received her Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University. Tameka started her private practice in 2018. Specialties and Expertise includes Women Issues, Marital and Premarital, Depression, anxiety, Men's issues, grief, self-esteem, stress, and relationship issues.

I am passionate about empowering my clients to find healing from past traumas, hurts, and hangups, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves, their story, and their relationship with God. Freedom to live the life you desire is not out of reach.

My mother taught me and my brothers from a very young age not to ever hate anyone. Her words have been invaluable to me. My father instilled in us boys a mantra that too has served me well. He said to us innumerable times "Listen." Neither of my parents were strict disciplinarians, and they never used corporal punishment. But, from boyhood, through adolescence and into young adulthood, my brothers and I could count on a well-deserved lecture and extra chores if either of my parents ever caught us breaking one of these rules. My parents' philosophy helped steer me into my life's work, and I employ their beliefs daily in my career as a therapist. I believe people seek counseling so they can be accepted, validated and heard. I committed to myself long ago to never hate and to always listen to my patients/clients/consumers, regardless of their behaviors.Validation, empowerment and dignity are what I strive to create, cultivate and reap in every therapeutic alliance into which I enter.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that provides virtual therapy. I am a proud graduate of Clark Atlanta University where I received my Master of Social Work. have 15 years of experience working in mental health. I have a passion for working to help people heal, so they can live their best life.

I work with adults navigating a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship challenges, grief, and major life transitions. I believe therapy can provide both the space to better understand yourself and the support to make changes that improve how you feel and function in everyday life.
