Welcome to a place where young hearts and minds find solace, growth, and resilience. As a dedicated psychologist specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy, I am here to help children, adolescents, and young adults navigate life's challenges, build positive thought patterns, and unleash their full potential. I grew up in Georgia and attended Georgia State University for both my bachelor's degree in psychology and my master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Georgia State University. On my leisure time, I exercise, I play sports, and I enjoy doing obstacles races. People often describe me as trustworthy, approachable and kind.
I am Mira Iheme, Ph.D., a doctoral-level clinician with over 20 years of experience providing psychotherapy to individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Throughout my career, I have been deeply committed to helping clients navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.

I am known for my energetic, highly positive, and optimistic style, which helps foster a supportive and empowering therapeutic environment. I work actively with clients to identify goals, develop practical strategies, and move toward improved emotional well-being and life satisfaction.
I thrive in helping clients make positive life transitions, overcome obstacles, and reconnect with their sense of purpose and inner strength. Hi! Thanks so much for visiting. I am a board-certified psychiatrist who has been in practice since 2012, and before that I practiced internal medicine. I treat individuals age 10 and up in an adult setting. I went to Duke University for pre-med (BS psychology) and then Emory University School of Medicine. I did my internal medicine residency at Emory also, was on staff at Emory, and was also in private practice before I went back to my psychiatry residency (State University at Stony Brook, Chief Resident, 2012).
I bring the dual training and years of experience treating the breadth and depth of psychiatry. I enjoy helping those who have had treatment-resistant conditions, and have a friendly, kind, and collaborative approach.
I treat anyone who is motivated to get better. I manage the entire spectrum of conditions, and manage tough-to-fix things like OCD and bipolar depression. Because of my personal background, I really get the gender-divergent and neuro-divergent folks, and folks with anxiety. :).
Please note:
-Self-pay rates are $500 for intakes and $250 for follow up appointments.
-Starting 7/29/26, I am based primarily in the SF Bay area, and so appointments might seem at odd hours for those on the east coast. If the times don't align with your needs, make the first appointment and we will make follow-ups together that fits for both of us.
-Given I am primarily providing care for those in a wonderful community center in San Jose, CA, (Camara), I will see folks in this practice part-time.
-I will be in Atlanta to see patients live if needed but know it may not be more than once every 6-8 weeks. On-line is primary.
I have two locations in the Bay Area for live visits. If an in-person session is needed, we will book that after the first on-line appointment.
-If a Florida client needs a controlled substance, one visit to the Atlanta or SF office will be necessary.
Hello there!
My aim as a therapist is to connect with you as a person, not just a client. In my opinion, therapy can be fun, not just full of tears and processing hard things. I try to make it fun and enjoyable even though there will be times when it's difficult. I use humor to bring you out of your shell and connection to get you where you want to go! I can't wait to meet you.
Hello! I have been working with kids, teens and adults for over 10 years. I can help with issues around anxiety, ADHD, OCD, relationship issues and grief/loss. I operate from a ACT model incorporating mindfulness and ERP for OCD and anxiety.
Refined Beginnings Counseling takes the focus off of issues and highlights solutions. Welcome, I am so glad you are here! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for supporting people through life’s most challenging and transformative moments. I have the privilege of walking alongside clients from diverse backgrounds as they navigate life’s challenges. My practice is dedicated to fostering client growth, emotional resilience, and mental wellness through evidence-based practices in diverse populations.
I understand how intimidating it can be to reach out for help, and I deeply respect the courage it takes to begin this journey. Therefore, my focus is building a strong therapeutic relationship, allowing clients to feel secure enough to explore difficult emotions and experiences; being client-centered, validating experiences without imposing judgments or assumptions; practicing cultural sensitivity and humility, with mindfulness of how culture, race, religion, gender identity, sexuality, and lived experiences shape a client’s worldview and mental health; empowering clients to explore, learn, and build tools to manage their lives more effectively; and focusing on the client’s goals and values.
Clear, honest communication is a powerful tool for healing and growth. In our work together, you can expect a space that is warm and supportive, but also direct and intentional. I practice active listening, utilize humor when appropriate, and will give you opportunities to reflect on your experiences, with calmness and patience. I will ask meaningful questions and challenge unhelpful patterns with compassion, designed to help you build the tools to confidently navigate life’s challenges.
Hi, I'm Maureen (she/her), and I’m a licensed professional counselor with more than two decades of experience supporting clients with toxic parent recovery, narcissistic abuse recovery, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and life transitions. I often see folks who appear successful on the outside but are struggling inside. I advocate for people who are starting something new and scary or leaving behind something painful. Whatever it is you are looking to unload, I offer a warm and validating space to explore what you’ve been carrying.
I hold a master’s degree in counseling and have worked in hospital systems, outpatient clinics, and university counseling centers. I have worked with adults and college students to better understand patterns and survival instincts. When I'm not working, I'm usually exercising in some way, spending time outside, or playing music.
I'm a therapist, punk, and human. I help late diagnosed (or suspecting!) ADHD/AuDHD women and AFAB folks work through the shame tapes (like "I'm lazy" or "I'm not good enough" or "everyone can do this except me") to get to empowerment. I am also trained in EMDR and group therapy facilitation for trauma processing and resilience building. Let's rise together!
