Prior to starting my own practice I worked in a variety of human service settings including residential treatment, secondary education, and in child welfare.

Hi, and thank you for being here. I’ve worked in the mental health field since 2012, supporting children, teens, and adults through individual, group, and family therapy. I help people with challenges like anxiety, depression, anger, low self-esteem, ADHD, trauma, and substance use. I'm a National Certified Counselor, Certified DBT Therapist, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy through secure telehealth appointments.
I have over 18 years of nursing experience, including 8 years in forensic psychiatry, nursing leadership, and education. These experiences have given me a strong understanding of mental illness across different settings and have shaped my patient-centered approach to care.
Over eleven years I have worked with a wide range of clients, which means very little of what you bring will be unfamiliar to me. Maybe you are managing anxiety that puts you in fight or flight, a low mood that will not lift, the demands of ADHD, or a health condition that has quietly reshaped your life. Whatever brings you here, I start from what is already working
in your life rather than from what is broken. You do not need the right words or a clear diagnosis to begin. If that sounds like the support you are looking for, I would be glad to hear from you.
I am a compassionate, collaborative therapist who values the whole person. I work from a strengths-based perspective and believe that people have the capacity to heal, grow, and create meaningful change when provided with a safe and supportive environment. I honor each client’s lived experiences, and I strive to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered. My role is to meet you where you are, help you explore what’s important to you, and support you in developing the tools and insight you need for lasting change.
Hi, my name is Austin and welcome to my private practice. As a man who has been deeply affected and healed by counseling, I get the need and role of counseling firsthand. This is why I love counseling: I believe humans were created to share their stories and to work through difficulties together. Counseling is my life’s passion. I am truly honored and delighted to now walk alongside others in dark places toward durable hope and lasting change.
I am personally acquainted with the pain of grief. After the loss of my mother to suicide, I began a counseling journey that revealed many unexplored areas in my life that needed compassion and care. These experiences have brought me face to face with life’s difficulties.
I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the United States Air Force Academy (Colorado Springs, CO) in Foreign Area Studies (Russia and Eastern Europe). After graduation, I worked as a military aviator and US Air Force Officer in domestic and international locations. I returned to graduate school to pursue a Master’s of Arts in Counseling and a Master’s of Divinity at Covenant Theological Seminary. Over the years, as a counselor, I have worked in a community-based counseling center, as a staff counselor for a church counseling center, and I am now in independent practice, working with men, veterans, couples, and families navigating trauma and PTSD, and the many ups and downs of life.
I have traveled throughout the world during my Air Force career. Seeing the many ways humans experience the world, in all its pain and joy, has only increased my passion to care for others. From working with teenagers and their struggles to individuals seeking hope to the married couple with decades of experience to everyone in between. I love working with people who are struggling and want change.

My journey started with volunteering in the Guidance Counselor's office at my high school. In this setting, my emotional intelligence and level of empathy began to grow. I decided to study Psychology to understand how the mind works, then studied Social Work to understand how that mind works when affected by events in the environment. I have worked extensively with children/ students, the LGBTQIA+ community, people living with HIV/ AIDS, the elderly, Veterans, Immigrants, couples and families. I accept clients no matter their race, gender, ethnicity or background. I utilize a strength- based approach for my clients as I believe we all have the ability to take control of our own lives.
