I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who believes mental health care should feel a lot more human and a lot less like being talked at for 15 minutes and handed a prescription. My background includes emergency, critical care, and procedural nursing, so I’m naturally curious about the whole picture—not just a diagnosis on a chart.
I especially enjoy working with women dealing with ADHD, anxiety, depression, PMDD, burnout, and the emotional chaos that can come with perimenopause and other major life transitions. My approach is evidence-based, hormone-informed, collaborative, and very much “you stay in the driver’s seat.”
I’m not interested in throwing medications at symptoms and hoping something sticks. I want to understand what is going on in your brain, your body, and your actual life so we can build a treatment plan that makes sense for you. Expect questions, education, honesty, a little humor when appropriate, and a provider who genuinely wants you to feel heard instead of dismissed!
Maybe you’ve been holding things together for a long time, but something just doesn’t feel right. You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or navigating an unexpected change. I’m Ashlee, and I provide compassionate, person-centered therapy for adults navigating life, relationships, identity, loss, and mental health struggles. I offer LGBTQ+ affirming and culturally responsive care, creating a space where you can feel safe being fully yourself. Therapy isn’t about becoming a different person—it’s about understanding yourself more deeply, making space for what matters, and developing the tools to move forward with greater confidence and self-compassion. You don’t need to have the right words. We can start wherever you are.
I'm a licensed clinical social worker who works with adults and adolescents navigating anxiety, trauma, OCD, intrusive thoughts, substance use concerns, and life transitions. My approach is practical, collaborative, and tailored to each person's needs. I draw from evidence-based approaches including EMDR, exposure and response prevention, and other integrative therapy techniques to help clients build insight, develop effective coping skills, and make meaningful changes.
You’ve done the work. You’ve read the books, listened to the podcasts, gone to talk therapy before — and somehow you still feel overwhelmed, STUCK or rudderless.
And, you may be SUCCESSFUL, high-functioning on the outside while struggling with holding everything together for everyone else inside ; or even feeling imposter syndrome.
Maybe it's stress and emotional exhaustion, trapped in unexplained patterns, or carrying trauma that still lives in your body no matter how much therapy you've done. Is passing the final exam talking it's toll?
Good news, I specialize in helping people who are tired of just talking about their pain. Whether you are navigating a painful divorce, or carrying deep childhood abuse, or paralyzed by an upcoming licensing exam, I provide a space to finally address and let's CHANGE the cycle.
My Focus is Anxiety: Licensing Exam/test, ADHD, divorce anxiety/trauma, Bipolar I/II, substance disorders, PTSD, trauma, chronic pain and health, nightmares, phobias, childhood sexual/physical abuse, sexual trauma & self identity.
I have EMDR certification work completed because I'm passionate about this work. The work you do today can impact not only your future, but the generations that come after you. We don’t just talk about trauma — we process it at the nervous system level so your brain and body can begin to heal. For EXAM anxiety, we dive quickly into EMDR to process.
As both a mental health and addiction professional, I bring a compassionate and holistic perspective to my work with clients. I understand that each person’s experiences are unique, and I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring challenges, building on their strengths, and working toward meaningful change.
My educational background reflects my commitment to understanding the connection between mental health, trauma, and overall well-being. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion with a minor in Psychology from Colorado State University–Pueblo, followed by a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health and Trauma from the University of Denver.
I have over a decade of experience in the Mental Health field with a substantial history in substance use counseling, working with individuals who were incarcerated. Females with co-occurring disorders in a controlled environment. I moved to working with an exclusive male population, where I assisted them to gain skills to overcome life's difficulties. As I, myself, gained skills and knowledge I moved into working with those within my community seeking services. I helped people seeking individual services as well as leading group counseling sessions which has always been a part of my therapeutic styles.
Working with competency restoration, probation and parolees gave me a guided sense of purpose and a knowledge of the law.
I have also worked with trauma informed care, military and those seeking a better way of life. I have worked with individuals within the TDCJ system. In my journey I have worked with those that deal with unforeseen life challenges, whether through a life choice or an unimaginable circumstance. My focus has always been on helping.
I'm a licensed psychologist, an assistant professor at a public university, and — in an earlier life — a musician who led a band around Hongdae in Seoul. I was born and raised in Korea and have since lived and worked across the U.S. and in Vietnam, so I know the experience of living between cultures from the inside.
I work with adults, adolescents, and children, in English and Korean, on ADHD and executive functioning; anxiety, stress, and depression; giftedness, creativity, and high performance (including performers and creative professionals); and bicultural and Korean-American identity, acculturation, and family dynamics across generations. I also see couples and families.
My doctorate is from one of the very few APA-accredited Combined (Counseling & School Psychology) programs in North America, and I've researched creativity and giftedness for more than ten years. Most of my work is by telehealth.

It can be exhausting when the thoughts & physical sensations are loud. I help clients slow things down & find the practices that work best for you & your life. If all you know is that you want things to be different, I can help you find your path to get there.
