I have lived in and outside of Mexico, Houston, Seattle, and Maine, and have felt at home in a number of ecosystems. I’ve held many titles: marine biologist, research scientist, environmental educator, elementary school teacher, farmer, barista, mom...I come from a multi-national, multi-cultural family. When I’m not therapizing, I’m outside with my family and my pets, gardening, writing, moving my body, and goofing off.
I dedicated the first part of my career to connecting with nature through science, outdoor adventure education, and horticulture, while doing my own therapeutic work. Nature has always been part of my healing and how I care for others. I graduated from the University of Washington with a BS in Aquatic and Fisheries Science, and earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of St. Thomas in Houston. I have 8 years of combined experience in eating disorder treatment at every level of care. My 5 years of private practice experience has centered on complex trauma presentations.

I have published several research papers in peer reviewed journals and have made 7 presentations at the state and national level. I taught research methods and statistics but what really matters to me aren’t my degrees etc..but wanting you to live a zest filled life.
I have a degree in engineering and a MBA but left engineering to focus on assisting clients find and achieve goals that are important to them. Engineering trained me to think logically and to problem solve with an emphasis on practical issues and being practical. Practical and long lasting results is my focus.
I’m a member of Mensa and have been in the American Counseling Association and the Texas Counseling Association. While I have treated a long list of issues my main focus has been working with couples, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and past trauma.
If you choose me I would feel honored to help as best I can. I work with age ranges from six year olds to seniors. I like to say I want difficult and complex cases but you are not a case.
I help children, adults, couples, and families who are navigating ADHD, anxiety, trauma, depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, or substance-use challenges. As an LPC-S, LCDC, and Certified School Counselor, I bring behavioral-health and school-based experience to therapy. My style is warm, direct, culturally responsive, and nonjudgmental. Together, we identify patterns, build practical coping and communication skills, and create a treatment plan that reflects your needs, strengths, and goals.
I am a therapist with over 30 years of experience working in a variety of treatment center settings, helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges with compassion and care. Throughout my career, I have specialized in treating abuse-related concerns and supporting clients in their healing journey. I work with children ages 10 and older, adolescents, and adults, providing a safe and supportive space for growth, recovery, and resilience. My broad professional background has allowed me to serve diverse populations and tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with eight years of experience, I am dedicated to supporting individuals as they navigate their path toward recovery and growth. I specialize in trauma treatment and work with clients of all ages - children, teens, and adults. I have a particular passion for supporting survivors of abuse and trauma. If you've been struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, anger, or behaviors that keep getting in the way of the life you want, you don't have to figure it out alone. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) with 18 years of experience helping people rebuild their lives through criminal reentry. Today, I work with children, teens, adults, and couples who are looking for real change. Over the years, I've learned that no one is defined by their past, and I believe every person is capable of growth when they're given the right support.
I have over 24 years of experience working with all different age groups and diagnoses. I have extensive experience working with complex trauma to include military, veteran and first responder related experiences. I have years of experience working with PTSD, moral injury and survivor's guilt.
Successful therapy begins by meeting the client where they’re at. As a clinical therapist with a background in social work, I believe therapy should be client-centered with a feeling of safety and trust. I pull techniques from various well-known therapies that are unique to the client's needs, acting as a guide, partnering with the client to find the best path to success. Some may need only one or two sessions, while others more. Regardless, this is a journey that we can figure out together.
