I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, trauma, addiction, and relationship challenges. I also specialize in complex and developmental trauma.

I support clients in integrating their spiritual and cultural values into therapy when desired and clinically appropriate. I was born in New Orleans and bring a culturally informed perspective shaped by my Latina, Indigenous, Christian, and Sephardic Jewish backgrounds.

I became a therapist because I have a deep commitment to helping people recognize and build their own strengths, especially during periods of feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected. I understand that seeking support takes courage, and I work to create a space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported throughout the process.

I earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) and PhD from Tulane University, as well as a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Louisiana and Texas, and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Minnesota. I also hold a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), Licensed Prevention Professional (LPP), and Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP).

I provide compassionate, confidential psychiatric care designed to help you feel supported and understood. Each treatment plan is personalized, using evidence-based approaches tailored to your unique needs and goals. My goal is to create a safe, judgment-free space where we can work together to manage challenges such as anxiety, depression, mood changes, or sleep issues. Hi, I’m Mariam Opafunso, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from Ohio University and have experience working in both inpatient and outpatient behavioral health settings. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and other mood-related concerns, as well as eating-related conditions in adolescents and adults.

Outside of my professional role, I value balance and growth, and I show up fully for the people I serve. I understand that seeking help can feel overwhelming, and I create a space where you feel comfortable, respected, and truly heard.

Dr. Adolf Malik, DNP, APRN, completed his master’s degree at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, followed by a post-master’s and a doctoral degree in nursing practice at Winston-Salem State University, NC. He also completed a post-doctoral degree in psychiatric mental health practice at Frontier Nursing University. He is board-certified in Adult, Child, and Adolescent Psychiatry; a Family Nurse Practitioner, a DOT Medical Examiner, and a SAMHSA (X-Waiver) addiction provider.
