I am a Licensed Master Social Worker in Texas. I have several years of experience in therapy with children, teens and adolescents. I have worked in outpatient settings, school settings, and most recently at a residential treatment facility for adolescents struggling with mental health. I specialize in trauma, attachment, depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, and relationships.I have an EMDR basic training certificate, which can be beneficial for those struggling with trauma.

I am a firm believer that life–even the best of lives– has moments of pain and suffering; however great or small. Some come to pass quickly and float away from our consciousness, while others stay with us, shape us, change our relationships and the way we see the world. The rest of our life is filled with moments dependent on how we cope with, process and accept those moments of pain or suffering.

To say "things aren't always easy" is often an understatement. Sometimes things are more than hard, and may have been piling up for a while. Whether you're battling depression, anxiety, grief, or changes in life, I'm here to help. I've worked with children, teens and adults in an inpatient psychiatric hospital, where they work to sort out their struggles. I have seen the damage trauma can do to relationships, but have also seen the power in connecting with others.

Hello! My name is James Newman. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and have worked across different levels of care, including community mental health and crisis intervention. I am forever grateful that modern technology allows me to practice counseling remotely via telehealth, because it allows me the opportunity to provide counseling to people in a convenient way, including to some who may otherwise never be able to access counseling services.

Currently I provide counseling via telehealth, and it is my aspiration to be able to provide in-person counseling in the Grayson County area by 2027.
