I have my Bachelors degree from the University of Scranton in Psychology in 2010 and received my Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling in 2013 also from The University of Scranton. I have worked in many fields prior to getting into private practice and have experience with couples therapy, addiction, inpatient and outpatient mental health counseling, adolescents, grief and trauma. I hold a CRC (Certified Rehabilitation Counselor) and an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) in Pennsylvania.
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor licensed in Maryland and Pennsylvania and nationally certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I believe therapy is a collaborative partnership built on trust, support, and mutual respect. My approach centers on balancing acceptance and change—meeting you where you are without judgment while helping you challenge unhealthy patterns, build new skills, and grow. Together, we will work toward meaningful change and creating a life worth living.
Taking the first step toward therapy takes courage and I'm honored to be part of that journey. My goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely safe and accepted, so we can do meaningful work together.

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but it does not have to be. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, understood, and supported from the very first session. I am known for being down-to-earth, genuine, and easy to talk to. I have several years of experience providing family therapy and working with individuals facing anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, family conflict, and life transitions. My approach is collaborative and flexible, allowing us to work together to identify goals and develop practical strategies that support meaningful change.
Welcome to therapy! My name is Diomarys Nuñez, I am a bilingual, Dominican Licensed Professional Counselor. I obtained my Masters in Clinical Counseling in 2020. I have worked in inpatient and outpatient settings, in both rural and urban settings, with individuals from across the lifespan. I specialize in maternal/perinatal mental health, women's issues, and racial/cultural trauma, along with other mental health challenges.
After decades in healthcare, including years in hospice and palliative care, I learned something that shapes everything about how I work: the most powerful thing I can offer is simply to be present. Not to fix, not to explain away, and not to pretend I fully understand what you are going through. But to stay with you in whatever you are carrying, without rushing, without judgment, for as long as it takes.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania. My years in hospice prepared me to hold space for people in the most difficult moments of their lives, and that experience is what I bring to therapy now. Whether you are managing a chronic illness, living with chronic pain, carrying trauma, grieving a loss, or burning out from caregiving, you do not have to make it more manageable for the people around you. You just have to show up.
One small note: I have a chronic pain condition myself, so you may see me reposition during our sessions. I mention it upfront so you can focus on yourself rather than wondering.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience, I have supported children, teens, and adults through a wide range of challenges, including depression, trauma and PTSD, family issues, anger and stress management and chronic conditions including various health disabilities. My approach is compassionate, honest, and personalized. I take time to listen, understand your experiences, and help you identify practical steps toward healing and meaningful change. As a spiritual and active person with diverse life experiences, I bring empathy, perspective, and genuine support to every session.
