Hello! I’m Lucas, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with nearly a decade of experience helping individuals navigate and overcome life’s challenges. Hello, I’m Cathy Laus. I have been a therapist for 32 years and earned my education at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in Pennsylvania, but residing in Florida since 2023. I have 10 years of experience working with individuals suffering from mental health and substance use disorders. I also specialize in trauma and offer a very warm, caring approach. If you’re feeling stuck in cycles that no longer serve you, know that you don't have to carry this alone. I offer a warm, nurturing space where your journey—mind, body, and spirit—is held with compassion. Instead of just focusing on the past, we’ll work together to find your inner resources and create small, tangible steps toward a life that feels lighter and more aligned with your values.
I bring 20+ years of experience and a genuine belief that every person has the capacity for change. I'm direct but compassionate — I'll be honest with you, and I'll always be in your corner. I don't believe in labeling people or fitting you into a box. You are a whole, complex human being, and that's how I'll treat you. I also have experience working with dually diagnosed individuals and those navigating substance use alongside other mental health challenges, so no matter what you're carrying, I've likely sat with someone in a similar place.
I provide EMDR service remotely, utilizing headphones for bilateral stimulation. Some of the areas I address are Depression, Anxiety, OCD, Trauma, Stress, Family Difficulties, Couples Therapy, Divorce, Military Life, & PTSD. When necessary, Clients will be helped to step outside of their comfort zone and explore new areas. I am a LPC & LMHC and NCC & can see Clients in PA & FL via telehealth.
I take a warm, empathetic, and direct approach to working my clients. I believe that people can be incredibly resilient when they put their minds to it. Together, we can tap into your potential to strengthen your competence and tackle your goals. I will fight for you to rid yourself of unhelpful patterns and narrow the gap to the life you desire.

Welcome? Glad we found each other. A bit about me for you: I received my B.S in Psychology from Penn State University in 1989 and my M.A. in Counseling from Arcadia University in 2001 and my LPC in 2006. Over the course of my professional career, I’ve worked in inpatient, outpatient, and IOP settings with adults and adolescents. Currently, I run my private practice while working as a Program Director and faculty for an M.A. in Counseling Psychology program.
Outside of my formal education, I’ve explored – and continue to explore - sexuality, gender, trauma, psychedelic integration, dreamwork, shamanism, spirituality & psycho-spiritual work, meditation, mindfulness, and more recently, ecopsychology and ecotherapy, somatic and polyvagal work. I am also a certified (Holotropic/Transpersonal) Breathworker.
Presently, I work with adult individuals experiencing issues related to trauma, sexuality, depression, anxiety, men’s issues, life transitions, and grief, and who want to thrive instead of just surviving.
I look forward to hearing from you so we can assess our compatibility to work together toward your goals.
