You may look like you're holding everything together. But inside, you're exhausted.
Your mind won't slow down. You're replaying conversations, worrying about your child, trying to keep up with work and family, or wondering why things that used to feel manageable suddenly feel so difficult.
Maybe your child or teenager is struggling with anxiety, ADHD, big emotions, school, friendships, or changes at home—and you're not sure what else to try.
Or maybe you're the one everyone depends on, and you've become so focused on taking care of everyone else that you've stopped feeling like yourself.
You don't have to wait until things get worse to get support.
I'm Cynthia High-Gutierrez, LCSW, a bilingual English/Spanish therapist with more than 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.
I specialize in helping people navigate anxiety, depression, ADHD/neurodiversity, stress, trauma, relationship and family challenges, women's issues, and major life transitions.
My background in public schools, school-based mental health, hospitals, and outpatient therapy gives me a unique perspective—especially when emotional health, family life, relationships, work, and school begin affecting one another.
Asking for help or support can be scary. Making that step to get therapy takes a great deal of strength. Therapy gives people the opportunity to develop effective and healthy responses to life's stressors. I work to create a safe holding environment to allow you to feel comfortable being yourself. I work with clients to help them develop awareness over their behaviors, thoughts, patterns, and feelings. I like to get to the source rather than just focus on the symptoms.
I have over 10 years of experience in a wide variety of clinical settings since obtaining my Master's degree and becoming a licensed clinician. I use a client centered approach that draws from my training in cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy, exposure and response prevention, and a trauma-informed approach. I have worked with people struggling with addictions, a wide variety of anxiety related difficulties, ADHD, depression, and some bodily focused repetitive behaviors. I also have experience working with couples to address relationship needs.
“Life is a journey to be experienced, not a problem to be solved”.
I specialize in high functioning anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress management, and helping individuals coming from various ethnic, cultural, economic, and religious backgrounds balance cross-cultural negotiations and aspects of identities.
If you are seeking the strength in your authentic self, ability to handle "insecurities" with unconditional love, and create structures for multilayered emotions, I am one email away.

Hello! A Little About Me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 18 years of experience helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges, find meaningful solutions, and move forward with confidence. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about supporting, educating, and advocating for others across a variety of settings.
I have worked with children, adults, families, older adults, and medically complex individuals, supporting them through a wide range of emotional, medical, and life challenges. I have a special interest in working with individuals adjusting to new-onset disabilities resulting from concussion, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and other neurologically challenging circumstances. I understand that these experiences can bring significant physical, emotional, and personal changes, and I am committed to helping clients navigate this journey with compassion and support. I also enjoy working with young adults as they navigate the unique mental and emotional challenges that can come with becoming an adult, facing uncertainty about the future, managing life transitions, and discovering their own path. I look forward to meeting you and learning more about your story.
Mental health is just as important as physical health, yet we often neglect it due to stigma or the fear of being perceived as "crazy." I am here to guide you through the challenges you face in life, providing support during both the ups and downs. Together, we can develop a personalized treatment plan that supports your mental and emotional well-being.
