Virtual & in-person • 11 mi away • Upper Marlboro, MD
Hello! I have been a clinical social worker for over 15 years. For a number of those years, I worked at Walter Reed National Military Medical center where I specialized in a wide range of mental health issues, including Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Grief and Loss, Sleep Problems, Relationship problems, and Work Stressors.
I believe that optimal mental health is achieved through an ongoing, multi-pronged approach. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner I am well trained in the art and science of prescribing medications to improve mental health symptoms. I also encourage adjunctive treatment modalities such as CBT. Empowering patients to care for themselves is part of my goal. I embrace opportunities to help my patients gain greater personal insight, because when you can see yourself, you can change yourself.
I specialize in medication management in treating mood, anxiety, psychotic, and substance use disorders. In the past, I worked as an RN in a dual diagnosis inpatient psychiatric unit. Recently, I have working in an outpatient private practice.

Find the right therapist for you
Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Mental Health Therapist in Lanham
Searching for therapists in Lanham starts with finding someone whose experience matches what you want support with. Therapists may focus on anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, work stress, or life transitions. As you compare options, look for specialties, approaches, and populations listed in each therapist’s profile. Some therapists may mention cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, trauma-informed care, or other methods that can help you understand how they work.
Lanham is a smaller local market, so nearby in-person options may be more limited than in larger Maryland cities. Virtual therapy can expand your choices while still letting you work with a therapist licensed in Maryland. As you narrow your search, consider appointment availability, whether the therapist is accepting new patients, and whether a free phone consultation is offered. Reading bios before booking can also help you compare communication style, session structure, and areas of focus.
Therapy in Lanham can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before care begins. Headway helps you find therapists who accept a wide range of insurance plans, see estimated out-of-pocket costs before booking, and choose between virtual and in-person sessions when available. You can browse therapists, review bios, and book directly when you’re ready.
