Clients should know that I approach therapy with empathy, respect, and a genuine commitment to understanding their unique experiences. I believe that meaningful change happens when people feel safe, supported, and free from judgment.
My work is also shaped by personal experience with depression and anxiety, which has given me a deeper appreciation for the courage it takes to seek help and confront difficult emotions. Because of this, I strive to create a compassionate and collaborative space where clients feel heard and understood.
I view therapy as a partnership. Together, we work to build insight, develop practical tools, and support meaningful, lasting change.
I offer support and skills to those exploring identity, intimacy, or relational complexity—whether in gender, sexuality, kink, or deocolonized relationships. They may be sitting with grief, unraveling the impact of trauma, or feeling the weight of past experiences in their body. They long for connection but struggle with vulnerability, trust, or belonging. Some feel stuck in cycles of overwhelm, while others are questioning the stories they’ve been told about who they are. They seek a space where they can be seen without judgment, process their experiences, and make sense of the systems shaping their lives.

If you're struggling with addiction, carrying the weight of complex trauma, or trying to cope while managing a chronic health condition, I want you to know there's a way forward — and you don't have to walk it alone. I'm a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CADC) with over 16 years of experience across private practice, residential substance abuse treatment, medical social work, and the non-profit world. I've sat with people in their hardest, most overwhelming moments, and I bring that same steady, non-judgmental presence to every session.
Much of my work centers on substance use and recovery, complex trauma, and the emotional toll of chronic medical conditions. Whether you're in the thick of a crisis or finally ready to address something you've carried for years, I'll meet you exactly where you are — with compassion, real tools, and zero judgment.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT). My decision to become a counselor comes from a genuine desire to contribute to the well-being of others. I have always been naturally curious and interested in understanding people, the experiences that shape us, the patterns we develop, and the ways we navigate both adversity and growth.
Mental health and psychology have also been part of my world for as long as I can remember. As the daughter of a mental health counselor, I grew up with an appreciation for the importance of mental health, human behavior, and the therapeutic process. Over time, that early exposure contributed to my own passion for helping others.
Like many people, I have experienced my own share of life’s challenges and difficult seasons. Those experiences have shaped my understanding of resilience and deepened my compassion for the complexities of being human. They have also taught me that healing is not always linear and that sometimes we need support to move through the experiences that leave us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from ourselves.
It is a privilege to support people through vulnerable and meaningful moments in their lives. I see my clients as a whole person with a unique history, strengths, challenges, and capacity for growth. My hope is that you leave therapy not only feeling understood and supported, but also more knowledgeable about yourself, equipped with practical tools, and empowered to move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and resilience.
Life can be messy, confusing, and exhausting—and you don’t have to go through it alone. I’m a realist therapist who listens deeply and meets you where you are. I blend evidence-based tools with real-world conversations to help you feel understood while learning how to cope, heal, and grow. If you’re feeling anxious, burned out, stuck in grief, challenged with life transitions or caught in old patterns—and ready for meaningful change at your own pace—I’m here to help. Let’s figure this out together.
If you're functioning on the outside but privately exhausted, stuck, or carrying more than you've let on, you're in the right place. I work with adults, many in the LGBTQIA+ community, navigating trauma, grief, relationship strain, and major life transitions. A lot of my clients come in saying, "I know what my patterns are. I just can't seem to change them." That's exactly where we start. Together, we'll get underneath what's keeping you stuck and build a path forward that actually fits your life.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel difficult, but you don’t have to navigate challenging seasons alone. I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over a decade of experience supporting adolescents and adults through anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief and loss, life transitions, and relationship and family concerns.
As a Certified Grief Educator, I have a particular passion for helping people navigate grief and loss. I understand that grief is not linear and that everyone experiences loss differently. Together, we can create a supportive, compassionate space where you can process your emotions, make sense of your experiences, and find ways to move forward while honoring the people and relationships you’ve lost.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and individualized. I use evidence-based strategies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and DBT-informed coping skills, along with practical tools you can use in everyday life. We may also focus on emotional regulation, communication, boundaries, coping strategies, and building confidence.
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety or depression, adjusting to a major life transition, working through relationship concerns, or trying to find your way through grief, therapy can provide a place to feel heard, supported, and understood. I would be honored to support you along the way.
I specialize in helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and relationship challenges with compassion, clarity, and a holistic lens. Clients often tell me they feel seen, safe, and supported in our work together. As a therapist, I combine clinical expertise with intuition and deep respect for the whole person-mind, body, and spirit-to create a space where healing, insight, and lasting change can take root.

Find the right therapist for you
Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Therapist in Springfield
Searching for therapists in Springfield starts with knowing what kind of support you want and which therapist specialties match your needs. Some Springfield therapists focus on anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship challenges, or major life changes. As you compare options, look for a therapist whose listed specialties, training, and approach fit what you want to address. A profile may mention approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, or eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, which can help you understand how a therapist works before you book.
In a smaller city like Springfield, the number of nearby therapy offices may vary by neighborhood, schedule, and specialty. Virtual therapy can expand your options while still letting you work with a therapist licensed in Illinois. Consider practical fit as you narrow your search, including appointment times, whether a therapist is accepting new patients, and whether they offer a free phone consultation. Reading therapist bios can also help you compare communication style, areas of focus, and what a first session may look like.
Therapy in Springfield can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and make ongoing care more affordable. Headway helps you find Springfield therapists who match your preferences, review estimated out-of-pocket costs before booking, and choose between in-person and virtual appointments when available. You can browse therapists, review bios, and book directly when you’re ready.
