Sometimes you can look like you're holding everything together while quietly feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or exhausted. You may spend so much energy taking care of work, family, or everyone around you that there's very little left for yourself. If that sounds familiar, you're not alone.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, panic, trauma, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. My goal is to provide a warm, supportive space where you can slow down, better understand what's contributing to your stress, and build practical tools that help you feel calmer, more confident, and more connected to yourself.
Life can get heavy, and sometimes you get to a point where you know something needs to change, you just may not know where to start. That’s where I can help. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, grief, major life changes, or just trying to make sense of everything you’ve been carrying, we can work through it together.
I work with children, teens, and adults, with a special passion for supporting at-risk youth, justice-involved individuals, and people who may feel like they’ve been judged, misunderstood, or overlooked. You don’t have to come into therapy with the right words or have everything figured out. Come as you are. We’ll start there and work toward where you want to be.
I approach therapy in a collaborative and compassionate way, creating a safe space where clients can feel supported as they explore their inner world. I believe that each client is the expert of their own life, and my role is to guide, support, and provide tools to help you connect with your strengths and insights. My work is trauma-informed and integrates a variety of techniques, including internal family systems, somatic methods, inner child work, strengths-based narratives, CBT, experiential approaches, and clinical hypnosis.
Hi, I'm Amanda, a licensed clinical social worker and therapist with a compassionate, affirming, and strengths-based approach. I believe you already have the innate capacity to heal - I'm here to help you get there.
I specialize in working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma (including PTSD and C-PTSD), ADHD, grief, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Together we will help you find practical approaches to overcome challenges, recognize your own strengths, and build self-compassion.
I grew up on the south side of Chicago. I am married and have two adult children. I have been a registered nurse for 30 years, primarily in women’s health and psychology and psychiatry nursing. I became a clinical mental health counselor 5 years ago, graduated from Bradley University.
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Benedictine University. I have been working in private practice for over 10 years, helping adolescents and adults navigate life’s challenges and create meaningful, lasting change.
My areas of specialization include trauma and couples counseling, and I have a particular passion for working with women. I understand that women often carry many different roles and responsibilities, and sometimes lose sight of their own needs in the process. I enjoy helping women work through anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the many unexpected circumstances that can leave us feeling stuck or overwhelmed.
