Taking that first step toward mental health care can feel like a lot, and I want to make it easier. I offer telehealth appointments in Connecticut, and I bring over three years of community mental health experience to every session. Whether you are navigating anxiety, working through depression, or healing from trauma, I meet you where you are and help you build a plan that fits your actual life. My approach is warm, practical, and focused on what works. I am here to help you move forward, one step at a time.
Hi, I’m Katherine! I’m a warm, down-to-earth clinician who believes therapy should feel like a conversation with someone who genuinely gets it—not a place where you feel like judged or lectured. I’m a big believer in being able to laugh together when the moment calls for it, while also making space for the hard stuff. I’m caring but goal-oriented, and I’ll work with you to figure out what you want to get out of therapy and help you take steps toward getting there.
I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist, owner of Adrienne Allen, LLC, and Faculty Member of Yale School of Medicine. I offer therapeutic services for adolescents and adults suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, and psychosis. My practice also offers psychological testing services including neuropsychological testing and risk assessments (e.g. violence, psychosexual, and suicide risk assessments).
Client's describe me as authentic, safe, relatable, and assertive. Professional enough to help, human enough to relate. I believe that authenticity is at the center of healing, hope, and change. My approach reflects those core values and is individualized to your specific goals and desires.
I believe we all carry an inner resilience that can be activated and drawn on when life gets hard. My job is to understand how you see yourself and how you see what is in front of you, and then work alongside you from there. I see adults navigating depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, and substance use, as well as people looking for a steady, nonjudgmental place to work through whatever they are carrying. If that sounds like where you are, reach out.
At the heart of my practice is the belief that patients deserve to be heard. I am committed to providing thoughtful, collaborative mental health care where patients feel supported, respected and empowered throughout their journey toward mental wellness. I provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, supportive therapy and evidence-based interventions for conditions including anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma related concerns and life stressors. I have ten years of experience working in the mental health field in inpatient, outpatient residential, long-term care, tele-health and community mental health settings.
I am a caring and supportive therapist with 10 years of experience helping people navigate mental health and substance use challenges. I have worked with individuals in both clinical and hospital settings, supporting people through difficult and often stressful times in their lives.
My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, and judgment-free space where you can feel heard, understood, and respected. I work with each person as an individual and believe that therapy should be a place where you can talk openly, understand yourself better, develop healthy coping skills, and work toward the changes you want to make.
Whether you are struggling with your mental health, substance use, life changes, relationships, or simply feeling overwhelmed, you don't have to face it alone. I am here to listen, support you, and work with you toward your goals.
For more than twenty years, I have had the privilege of walking alongside adolescents, adults, and couples during some of the most difficult and meaningful seasons of their lives. I believe that sometimes it can be difficult to see beyond the darkness in front of us. My role is to listen without judgement while helping you find your way toward the light again.
