I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been living in Colorado since 2005. I have a Master's of Science degree in Counseling with an emphasis on Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy. I specialize in working with children, teens, and young adults who have experienced trauma, struggle with anxiety and/or depression symptoms, grief, self-esteem, and relationship issues.
As both a mental health and addiction professional, I bring a compassionate and holistic perspective to my work with clients. I understand that each person’s experiences are unique, and I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring challenges, building on their strengths, and working toward meaningful change.
My educational background reflects my commitment to understanding the connection between mental health, trauma, and overall well-being. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion with a minor in Psychology from Colorado State University–Pueblo, followed by a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health and Trauma from the University of Denver.
I work to meet clients wherever they are at emotionally and identify their goals so that we can work together to create the best life possible for them. I have experience working with all ages and walks of life, from first responders and caretakers to teenagers and families. I come from a family of helpers and have a deep understanding of how traumatic experiences can destabilize people's well-being. I am here to work as a guide, not a teacher, and believe that all healing is done by the patient. I seek to empower my patients and show them their inner strength that was there all along.
Hi, I'm Alex! I'm excited to get to know you. My friends describe me as a golden retriever, which is energy I think I also bring into therapy. I'm going to be by your side every step of the way.
The connection between you and I will be the most important factor in our work together - it will be my top priority to get to know you as your own person with your unique experiences, thoughts, and feelings.
My non-work time is spent adventuring with my kids, reading, & making bizarre Spotify playlists for any occasion.
As a licensed professional counselor, I am here to explore what you are struggling with and explore ways to overcome life's difficulties, whatever they may be. I have acquired over 10 years of experience supporting children, teens, adolescents, and families through life's challenges. I have helped professionals and caregivers, through life's challenges, burn out, and the discovery of self-care. I have worked in education, research, correctional system, hospitals, and private practice.
Telehealth available! Are you seeking answers to your life and ready to get to work in therapy? Do you feel as if you are very alone in your thoughts and life? Maybe you have been so abused and abandoned that you think you deserve it. Maybe your isolation or emotions have even helped you stay safe! Believe me, there is more about your life to discover and I am here for you to work on this together!
I have been unanimously approved of as Adjunct Faculty at the Colorado School for Family Therapy. "She is a consummate professional and expert in this field and brings her passion and lifelong dedications to all involved".
Together, we can create a nurturing environment in our work together. I will encourage you to explore your strengths while managing fears and anxiety. I will work to understand your perspective and ensure you are completely listened to and respected. You don’t have to go through this alone!
