Sometimes the hardest part is just deciding to reach out. I work with children, adolescents, and adults who are navigating anxiety, trauma, family stress, and the weight of experiences that are hard to carry alone. I am affirming and experienced in working with LGBTQIA+ and transgender individuals, and I welcome clients across a wide range of backgrounds and life circumstances. Whether you are dealing with the effects of trauma, anxiety that has become hard to manage, or stress that has quietly built up over time, I want our work together to feel like a genuine partnership.
I help people create meaningful, lasting change in their lives—on their terms. My work is rooted in real-life experience. I know what it’s like to explore different paths, question who you are, and search for something that truly fits. Before I could guide others, I had to do the work myself—gaining clarity, growth, and alignment with who I really am.
I have been a counselor for 40 years, working with individuals, couples, families and groups with psychological as well as addiction issues. I have extensive experience in inpatient as well as outpatient settings. I am eclectic in my evaluation and treatment methods, which gives me flexibility to treat individual needs. Primarily, I use cognitive-behavioral techniques. Many of my clients suffer with depression, anger, and anxiety (panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorder); all of which impact potential addictions. I also treat couples and families to better understand their dynamics and to improve their communication skills.
My background consists of psychological testing and understanding personalities. This has helped in my work with children, adolescents, & families. I enjoy working with gay and straight couples, to help them with empathy and communication. I do extensive cognitive work as well as teaching techniques with people suffering from anxiety, anger, and addictions.
I encourage self-awareness to stimulate one's potential. Understanding oneself is essential to reducing anxiety, depression & anger (and in improving relationships). I teach relaxation, meditation, & self-hypnosis techniques to improve personal balance. I guide couples and families to improve relationships through empathy, acceptance, and communication.
My ideal clients are seeking deeper connections but feeling held back by intimacy issues, relationship patterns, anxiety, depression, or trauma. You might feel disconnected from your partner, overwhelmed by intrusive thoughts, or stuck in cycles that no longer serves you. In our work together, you don't have to hide any part of who you are. I provide a grounded, entirely non-judgmental space centered on authentic human connection. Together, we explore what is keeping you stuck and build practical, compassionate paths toward relational understanding, emotional stability, and personal healing.
As both a mental health and addiction professional, I bring a compassionate and holistic perspective to my work with clients. I understand that each person’s experiences are unique, and I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring challenges, building on their strengths, and working toward meaningful change.
My educational background reflects my commitment to understanding the connection between mental health, trauma, and overall well-being. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion with a minor in Psychology from Colorado State University–Pueblo, followed by a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health and Trauma from the University of Denver.

Welcome to Couples Therapy! Are you having the same argument over and over? Did your relationship experience betrayal and loss of trust? Or are you simply living as roommates or logistical partners who run a family, bussing kids across various sports/schools events, with little to no passion toward each other? I am here to help! I work with couples to identify the patterns that block connection and to rediscover the emotional bond that brought you two together. My goal is to create a calm, supportive space where both of you feel heard, respected, and understood. Change begins when we learn to understand - not fix - each other.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor for 20+ years I have gained a lot of experience to draw upon. I understand that seeking help can be one of the hardest things to do, so good job on acknowledging that talking to someone could be helpful.
Education and Training:
Master’s in counseling psychology, Colorado Licensure, numerous certifications and training in various mental health skills and approaches
Therapy and people continue to change and evolve. In addition to my educational degrees, I get additional frequent training to continue developing my skills and be prepared for those ongoing changes and challenges.
My Positive, Storied Approach to Personal and Professional Growth
Everyone’s life is a grand story, filled with twists and turns, good things and bad things, all grounded in personal life themes. I consider it an enormous honor to be invited into someone’s story and believe that everyone has the power to take control of their stories, write the next chapter, and then make it happen.
Be the hero of your own story! Together we can talk about everything from what you want to include as you move forward, what you want to leave behind, and even the cast of characters in your life! Through thoughtful and genuine exploration, we both gain a better understanding of you and what you bring to the world including your strengths and talents, meaning and purpose. Through the process, my goal is to empower you to create a meaningful story you can be excited to step into.

Factors to Consider When Choosing a Mental Health Therapist in Pueblo, CO
Searching for therapists in Pueblo starts with finding someone whose experience matches what you want support with. People often look for therapy for anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, stress, trauma, or major life changes. As you compare therapists, look for listed specialties, therapy approaches, and populations served. Some profiles may mention approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, trauma-informed care, or family therapy, which can help you understand how a therapist works before you book.
In a smaller city like Pueblo, the right local match may depend on both fit and access. In-person therapy can be helpful if you prefer meeting at an office near home, work, or school, while virtual appointments can expand your options across Colorado. When narrowing your search, consider appointment availability, whether the therapist is accepting new patients, and whether they offer a free phone consultation. Reading therapist bios can also help you compare communication style, session structure, and experience with concerns like Pueblo counseling, couples counseling, or individual therapy.
Therapy in Pueblo can be expensive without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before your first appointment. Headway helps you find therapists who accept a wide range of insurance plans, see estimated out-of-pocket costs upfront, and book directly when you’re ready. You can browse therapists in Pueblo, review bios, and find care that matches your needs, schedule, and coverage.
