Life can be overwhelming, and sometimes the challenges we face—whether it’s the stress of being a new parent, navigating a difficult relationship, managing trauma, or dealing with anxiety and depression—can feel insurmountable. I believe that every person has inherent strengths that can be harnessed to create positive change. In our work together, we will explore your unique needs and build practical, personalized tools that empower you to navigate life’s challenges with confidence.
With over 20 years of experience in diverse behavioral health settings, I bring a wealth of knowledge and understanding to help you navigate challenges. I specialize in maternal mental health, trauma, women's issues, relational issues, family conflict, substance use concerns, anxiety, and work or career-related stress.
I believe counseling is a collaborative process and starts in the first session as we work together to understand your concerns. My first intention for you is to feel empowered, nurtured, and strengthened by the work we do together. I will work with you to create a safe and trusting space in which you can explore challenges that have hindered your ability to take full advantage of your potential. Together we will work on resolving difficult issues to promote increased self-awareness, understanding, and connection.
I believe that each person holds inherent wisdom needed to transform pain into healing. Although pain is a natural part of life, it doesn't have to define your future. My belief is that through a trusted relationship, you can access an inner sense of safety needed to heal wounds while honoring your unique journey.
I am deeply committed to supporting individuals on their life journey, fostering an environment for healing, transformation, and empowerment through providing accessible mental health services. I hold training and experience in children/adolescent mental health, and utilize the therapeutic powers of play to meet children where they are.
Life can present unexpected challenges, major transitions, and moments of intense uncertainty that leave us feeling overwhelmed or disconnected from who we are. Whether you are navigating anxiety, processing trauma, adjusting to parenthood, or breaking old patterns that no longer serve you, I provide a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate space to help you find your footing.
My work with adults centers on major life transitions, anxiety, burnout, trauma, identity exploration and personal growth. I integrate relational, somatic, and strength-based approaches to help you process complex emotions and deepen your self-awareness.
Additionally, I support children and families through trauma and developmental shifts. When working with kids, I use the natural language of play and honest, age-appropriate narratives to help them express what they may not yet have the words to say, ensuring both caregivers and children feel supported along the way.
As a dual-career professional, I blend deep clinical counseling expertise with decades of corporate and entrepreneurial experience - giving you a unique, practical perspective on personal and professional growth. My approach integrates the rigor of evidence-based Western science with the grounded wisdom of Eastern humanistic philosophy.
I’m a licensed therapist with master’s degrees in both Philosophy and Clinical Counseling from the University of Colorado Denver. My work is guided by values of openness, empathy, and curiosity, and I see therapy as a collaborative space for growth and self-discovery. I strive to create an environment where clients feel genuinely seen, supported, and empowered to make meaningful changes. I work with adults and adolescents navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, thought disorders, and life transitions, helping them build resilience and a deeper sense of fulfillment.
Welcome. I’m Jessica Baird, a licensed therapist with a deep passion for helping individuals reconnect with themselves through a blend of traditional psychotherapy, mind-body integration, and somatic practices. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, my work is grounded in the belief that healing happens not only through insight and reflection—but also through the wisdom of the body.
I am a licensed therapist and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional based in Colorado and Wyoming. My approach to therapy is Christian-based drawing from a range of person-centered and evidence‐informed therapeutic methods. At the heart of my work, I believe each individual has the capacity for change and growth. Even when life feels heavy, there is always a part of us that holds the gift of resilience, wisdom, and healing grace. My role is to help individuals reconnect with that part to create a grounded, supportive space where they can feel understood, regain a sense of control, and move toward the changes that matter most to them. Hi, I'm Kristen Goltz, MS, LMFT — a trauma therapist in Fort Collins, CO specializing in Somatic and Attachment-Focused EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS) Level 1 therapy. I work with teens (13-17) and adults (18+) in-person in Fort Collins and virtually throughout Colorado and Florida.
I came to this work not just through training, but through my own healing journey. I know what it feels like to be weighed down by the past, to understand your patterns but still feel stuck, and to wonder if real change is actually possible. It is. I've lived it.
I specialize in complex trauma, relational trauma, attachment wounds, narcissistic abuse recovery, anxiety, depression, co-parenting and divorce recovery, and ADHD. If you've done therapy before but still feel stuck in the same patterns — this work goes deeper than traditional talk therapy.
My introduction to helping people and psychology both came about, as a result of following my mom’s example and the Bob Newhart Show. My mother was a natural people person with a keen interest and background in psychology. My take-away from the Bob Newhart Show drove home the needs for humor and light-heartedness as well as a genuine love for what you do. I believe that those qualities: love for people and my passion and seeing the humor in things truly define me, both as a therapist and a person. My academic journey led me to both bachelors and masters degrees from The University of Northern Colorado and included intensive training in Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Hypnotherapy during my sabbatical in between my degrees. With a strong theoretical base supporting me, I moved forward and was able to blend my education with twenty years of real-world experience. I went on and diversified my experience as I worked in community counseling, community corrections, Inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and private practice. Although our learning never ceases, I feel very comfortable and sincere in offering clients my wealth of experience, knowledge of human behavior, and most of all, a kind ear.

Factors to Consider When Choosing an Anxiety Therapist in Fort Collins
Searching for therapists in Fort Collins starts with knowing what kind of support you want. People may look for therapy for anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship concerns, grief, life transitions, or work stress. As you compare Fort Collins therapists, look for someone whose listed specialties, training, and therapy approach match your needs. A therapist’s bio can help you understand whether they use approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, somatic therapy, or couples therapy.
Fort Collins has a strong local care community, with options near downtown, south Fort Collins, and surrounding areas, but the right fit may also depend on schedule and format. Some people prefer in-person sessions in a therapist’s office, while others choose virtual appointments for more flexibility around work, school, caregiving, or transportation. As you narrow your search, consider appointment availability, whether the therapist is accepting new clients, free phone consultations, and how clearly their profile explains their style. If you are looking for a counselor in Fort Collins, Colorado, reading bios before booking can help you compare communication style, session structure, and areas of focus.
Therapy in Fort Collins can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and make ongoing care easier to plan for. Headway helps you find therapists who accept a wide range of insurance plans, verify your benefits, and see your estimated out-of-pocket cost before booking. You can browse therapists in Fort Collins, review profiles, and book directly when you are ready.
If you're experiencing or worried about violence, threats, or coercion in your relationship, couples therapy isn't usually the right starting point — individual support is safer. The National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788\) can help you think through next steps.
