My name is Shannon Overcash, and I have been a therapist for ten years. I hold my LPC and LMFT licenses in Arkansas. I am somewhat new to telehealth, but am excited to experience this journey.
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with 12 years of experience helping adults navigate some of the harder things life brings — anxiety, PTSD, OCD, grief, bipolar disorder, maternal mental health, infertility, eating disorders, and chronic illness, among others. I work with adults of all backgrounds and I'm fully LGBTQIA+-affirming. I see all of my clients via telehealth, which means if you're anywhere in Arkansas, we can work together — no commute, no waiting room. I'm warm and I'm direct, and I don't believe in keeping you in therapy longer than you need to be.
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience working with individuals across the lifespan, including college students, veterans, and neurodivergent clients. I specialize in areas such as ADHD, autism, anxiety, grief, trauma, and emotional regulation, and I believe each client is the expert on their own life.
You might be feeling exhausted from holding everything together, anxious about the future, or stuck in patterns that no longer fit who you are. I work primarily with women and couples navigating anxiety, burnout, relationship stress, and trauma that can be hard to put into words. Many of my clients are new to therapy or haven’t always felt culturally safe or understood in past spaces. With me, you don’t have to shrink yourself or explain your whole identity just to be believed. Together, we’ll work toward you feeling more grounded, more confident, and more like yourself again.
I work with adults who are ready for a more honest, compassionate relationship with themselves. In our work, we’ll slow down and make sense of your experiences, including the parts that may feel confusing, overwhelming, or hard to name. Together, we’ll explore unprocessed feelings, long‐standing patterns, and the stories you carry about yourself and others. My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in genuine curiosity. I aim to offer a space where your innermost thoughts and emotions can be expressed without judgment, and where you can feel both gently challenged and deeply understood. I see adults in both individual and couples therapy and welcome people with diverse identities, relationships, and backgrounds.
I work to get to know my client's, to understand where they are coming from, and to provide feedback with a goal to promote healing and positive change. I draw on my 37 years of work in this counseling, and multiple levels of education.
Hello and welcome! Seeking therapy takes a lot of courage and finding the right therapist is an important part of that process. I have experience working with adults facing a variety of challenges including depression, anxiety, stress, life transitions, severe mental illness, and problems with motivation and self-esteem.
Welcome. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I am here to step into the emotional trenches of life with you. My goal is to lean in and help you uncover your strengths, identify your needs, and grow in your relationships. I have experience in both school and private practice settings and specialize in attachment, parenting struggles, anxiety, life transitions, trauma, and relationship concerns. I believe hard seasons are easier to navigate when you have steady, compassionate support.

Factors to Consider When Choosing a Mental Health Therapist in Arkansas
Searching for therapists in Arkansas starts with finding someone whose training matches what you want to work on. Across the state, available therapists and specialties can vary between larger cities, smaller towns, and rural communities. You may be looking for support with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, trauma, or life transitions. As you compare therapists, look for listed specialties, therapy styles, and experience with concerns like yours. Bios can also show whether a therapist uses approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, or trauma-informed care.
Location and format can also shape your search. In Little Rock, Fayetteville, Fort Smith, and other parts of Arkansas, some people prefer an in-person office, while others choose virtual sessions for scheduling flexibility. You can also narrow your options by appointment availability, whether a therapist is accepting new patients, free phone consultations, and the structure of sessions. Reading profiles before booking can help you understand how a therapist communicates, what they focus on, and what to expect in a first appointment.
The cost of mental health care in Arkansas varies, and using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to lower session costs. Headway helps you search for Arkansas therapists who accept insurance, verify your benefits, and see your estimated out-of-pocket cost before booking. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, and you can confirm coverage for your plan and location as you search. From there, you can compare therapists, review bios, and book directly when you’re ready.
