I'm a licensed therapist with over 20 years of experience working with adults. I earned my Master's in Counseling from Liberty University. I specialize in anxiety, life transitions, and supporting individuals who feel overwhelmed or put a lot of pressure on themselves to hold everything together. My approach is collaborative and goal-oriented, and I see therapy as a partnership focused on creating meaningful, practical change.
As a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, I am passionate about personal growth, both physically and mentally. I find balance through movement, whether it's walking my dogs, hiking, or riding my horses.
Are you feeling overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or past trauma? Do you want to sharpen your mindset, improve relationships, find emotional peace, strengthen habits or deepen your spiritual life?
Hi, I’m Jacob Templeton. I bring experience from 15 years in mental health, including 9+ years of clinical counseling. I've worked with diverse clients, including many first responders. Whether you’re navigating a tough season or pursuing growth, I’d be honored to help you create lasting change.
I enjoy working with individuals to emphasize their inner strengths, improve their relationships with others, and lead meaningful lives. My specialty areas include anxiety, anger control problems, trauma, stress management, and self-regulation.
It's not easy starting therapy and investing time in yourself, but you've already done the first step! My experience has primarily been focused in clients with eating disorders and co-occurring diagnoses. With that said, I also have extensive experience working with relationship challenges, anxiety, self-harm, and suicidality. I generally like to pull from my knowledge of various therapy modalities such as DBT, CBT, FBT and EFFT. I also really enjoy self-compassion work. Your goals are always my top priority, and I am here to support you every step of the way.
Outside of work, I enjoy live music, spending time with friends, and hanging out with my dogs, Nala and Toni. These personal interests help me stay grounded and bring balance to my life, which I believe is crucial for overall well-being.
If you're ready to take the next step, I'm here to help you navigate your journey towards healing and growth. Let's work together to achieve your goals!
Do you feel stuck? Does your mind play the same mental record over and again? Do you know what you "should" do but just can't make yourself do it? Have you tried traditional talk therapy and not gotten the help you needed? I encourage you to try therapies that target the mind-body connection to release yourself from these binds. I offer clients Brain Spotting, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) in addition to traditional talk therapy. These therapies are evidence-based, efficient, and powerfully effective. We are designed to heal but we need help to activate these resources.

My focus is helping clients regain a sense of balance and Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here and exploring your options for counseling support. I have been a counselor since 2004 and work with young adults, adults, and parents. There is no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to therapy, so I like to work collaboratively with my clients to find a plan that meets their strengths and goals. Some of my passions are helping people understand and regulate their nervous system so they can be more present, engaged, and connected in their lives. I pull from mindfulness and self-compassion based approaches along with yoga, DBT, brainspotting, listening therapies, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I look forward to connecting with you. I believe that meaningful healing happens through connection. My goal is to create a compassionate, respectful, and supportive space where you can feel comfortable being yourself and exploring the experiences that have shaped you. I work with children, adolescents, and adults and recognize that every person brings unique strengths, values, relationships, and life experiences to therapy. I will meet you where you are and support you as you work toward greater understanding, healing, and growth. For clients who desire it, Christian faith and spirituality can also be incorporated into our work in a way that honors your individual beliefs and comfort level.
