If you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, trauma, difficult emotions, or major life changes, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience helping individuals facing mood disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, personality disorders, and other life challenges. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Montevallo and strive to create a space where clients feel heard, understood, and comfortable being themselves. My practice, Elpida Counseling, LLC, takes its name from the Greek word for “hope”—because I believe hope can exist even during the seasons when it feels hardest to find.
I speak Haitian Creole!
I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 15 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, & depression. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage! I am here to support you in that process.
I am a dedicated Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
with a wealth of experience providing direct therapeutic services to diverse populations.
With advanced degrees in Social Work and Child Development, I am skilled in
conducting complex bio-psychosocial and diagnostic assessments for children,
adolescents, and adults. I provide individualized, evidence-based treatment
for individuals, couples, and groups, addressing a broad range of behavioral health
challenges including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety,
adjustment disorder and grief. My clinical practice is grounded in a variety of proven
modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy
(CPT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a profound commitment to
patient care within demanding environments, including military and outpatient settings.
I have served as a primary therapist in the Army Embedded Behavioral Health clinics,
supported the Army Family Behavioral health Clinic, and provided on-call crisis support for
hospital emergency rooms. A core component of my work involves developing and
monitoring individualized treatment plans to ensure measurable progress and positive
outcomes for my clients. By providing specialized, person-centered counseling and
intervention, I empower my clients to achieve recovery and wellness.
My focus is to help individuals and families build resiliency to heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. We achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan to connect you with simple strategies that would assist you with achieving your full potential.
Maybe you have been holding it together at work while quietly coming apart at home. Maybe your teenager has changed in ways you do not understand and you are out of ideas. Maybe you have reached a season where the strategies that carried you this far have simply stopped working. I am Claudia Arns-Hall, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Alabama, and I treat each client as if they were my only client. I came to counseling as a second career. For more than twenty years I worked in human resources, training, and leadership development for organizations including State Street, Revlon, and Southern Company, and I served as a human resources director before making the change. Because I felt a calling in my life to assist others, I earned my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, and I also hold an M.S. from Lesley University and a B.S. in Business Administration. For the past four years I have worked at Hill Crest Behavioral Health Services, first as a therapist on the Acute Adult Unit and Patient Intensive Care Unit and now as Clinical Coordinator for the acute unit, where I also train and mentor newer therapists. That is emergency-room-paced behavioral health work, which means very little you bring me will be unfamiliar and none of it will shock me. I have served both adults and adolescents. If you want someone thorough, involved, and genuinely focused on your individual situation rather than on a protocol, that is what I offer.
