I was born and raised in both Texas and overseas via military father. I experienced the machismo of Texas along with the racism experienced by the mostly Latino/a population in Texas, and always wanted to find a career helping those who have been ostracized and "othered."
I am board certified with a masters degree in nursing from University of Texas, and as a licensed psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner. I practice in the state of New York.
I enjoy assisting those with diagnoses of bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, adhd, and schizophrenia, along with post-traumatic stress disorder, and the varied problems that arise from past trauma.
Gold coast wellness helps the child and adult who has been anxious since COVID-19. Be the star of the classroom or workplace by providing a community-centric approach to care.
Maybe you aren't getting as much joy from spending time with their loved ones, or the sunset doesn’t feel as striking as it once did.
We'll use a gentle, collaborative approach to help you explore your thoughts without judgment.
You can expect open communication, respect, and individualized care focused on helping them achieve lasting emotional balance and improved daily functioning.

Welcome to Harbor Hope Psych Care. I have taken care of clients for over 25 years. I am a dual board-certified Nurse Practitioner in family and psychiatry. I am dedicated to helping individuals improve their mental health and overall well-being. With a strong foundation in both psychiatry and family practice, I bring a perspective to care recognizing that mind and body are deeply connected. I have experience in adolescent psychiatry. I provide medication management and brief psychotherapy.
I am a board-certified psychiatrist who provides medically-oriented treatment for depression, Bipolar Disorder, anxiety, and Attention Deficit disorder. I pride myself as using non-addictive medications as much as possible. As a physician (MD) with a background in psychology, medicine, and neurology, my care is above average compared to providers without this background.
My approach is laser-focused, precision medication management. In addition to my clinical expertise, I mentor medical students, residents, and fellow providers. I am an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Frank Netter School of Medicine. I plan to use all my clinical skills to help people achieve the maximum improvement in mental health.

I am a board-certified Psychiatrist (medical doctor) providing virtual care throughout NY and PA. I taper medications. This means most of my patients want to safely reduce or ultimately stop taking psychiatric medications, and I guide them through that process safely and at their own pace. I include therapy in my 30-min follow up sessions, though do not offer weekly 1-hour therapy sessions. Many of my patients also work with a therapist.
I am very dedicated to providing quality service to patients in my care and actively listening to their concerns
I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I believe health is a human experience, not simply a clinical checklist. My background in traditional psychiatry has given me a strong understanding of mental health across diverse settings, grounded in evidence-based practice.
I take a compassionate, collaborative, and structured approach to care. I believe in creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and supported. I work closely with each individual to develop personalized treatment plans that may include medication management and supportive therapy, always focusing on realistic and meaningful progress.
My goal is to help clients better understand their mental health, build effective coping strategies, and feel empowered in their treatment journey.

Find the right psychiatrist for you
Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Psychiatrist in Ronkonkoma, NY
Finding psychiatrists in Ronkonkoma starts with knowing what kind of mental health care fits your needs. Psychiatrists and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners can diagnose mental health conditions and prescribe medication, while therapists focus on talk therapy and support. Psychiatric care may include medication management, which involves reviewing symptoms, side effects, dosage, and how care fits with concerns like anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, or OCD. Some people start with a therapist, some start with a prescriber, and some work with both.
Ronkonkoma is close to Lake Ronkonkoma, Selden, Centereach, and other Suffolk County communities, but local psychiatrist availability may vary. Virtual appointments can expand your options across Long Island while still giving you access to licensed care from home. As you compare psychiatrists, look at appointment availability, whether they are accepting new patients, and whether they offer free phone consultations. Provider bios can also show how a psychiatrist communicates, what conditions they list, and whether they offer therapy in addition to medication management.
Psychiatric care in Ronkonkoma can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before booking. Headway helps you search for psychiatrists who match your preferences, verify your insurance, and see estimated costs upfront. Every provider listed is accepting new patients, so you can review bios, compare virtual and in-person options, and book directly when you’re ready.
If you're already taking psychiatric medication and considering switching providers, talk to your current prescriber before changing or stopping any medication — most psychiatric medications shouldn't be stopped abruptly. Anyone experiencing thoughts of self-harm or in acute crisis should call 988 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than wait for an outpatient appointment.
