As an ER nurse for 15 years in the Psychiatric emergency department and spending the first half of my Nurse practitioner career on an inpatient psychiatric unit before going to outpatient, I have been there with people and helped them through their roughest days. Through medication managed crisis intervention work in these areas, I have learned to support your journey through medication stabilization, a lot of humor about the triggers and stressors life gives us and foundational guidance.
