I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Texas Arlington, and Master of Science in Nursing immediately after. Board certified by ANCC and have 19 years of Nursing experience.

I'm Astrid, a dedicated nurse practitioner with over 18 years of healthcare experience, including over 6 years in mental health, presently welcoming clients in FLORIDA and COLORADO.

I chose to become a psychiatric provider because I am inherently compassionate, and I enjoy talking to people about what's really going on with them, not just what they portray in public. I later completed a Post-Master's Certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, allowing me to provide psychiatric care across the lifespan.

I offer secure telehealth appointments for patients throughout Colorado, caring for children ages 6 and older, adolescents, adults, and older adults. I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management for a variety of mental health conditions, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma-related disorders, and other emotional and behavioral concerns.

I’m Krishawnda (or Shawnda for short)! I’ve been working as a nurse since 2011. I was a RN for 9 years and have been a psychiatric nurse practitioner since 2020. My BSN was obtained from the University of Kentucky. My graduate degree is from Eastern Kentucky University. I have worked in geriatric psych, adult psych, and child psychiatry.

I’m a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a background that spans mental health, geriatrics, home health, intensive care, and long-term rehabilitation. My personality is open, honest, and direct—I believe transparency builds trust. With over a decade of hands-on nursing experience and recent advanced training in psychopharmacology and CBT, I bring both empathy and expertise to our work together. My clients can count on clear communication, collaborative care, and a deep commitment to helping them thrive.

I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have been a nurse for over 20 years and the majority of my background comes from working in public health and child protective services. I am passionate about providing care that is both clinically effective and deeply human.
